I'm not buying that "it was just a joke!".

I did not know any straight guys in high school or college who would have thought wearing dresses and make-up, and prancing and skipping though the park was a great idea for a joke.
 
Absolutely just a joke...and just for fun....No surprise here at who can't remember their high school/college talent shows, homecoming skits, etc.

Whether it was "just a joke" or otherwise, it still smacks of great hypocrisy. What's that old saying about "Do as I say, not as I do?" We had an annual Powderpuff football game at our h.s. The girls played football and the football team dressed up like cheerleaders. No one thought anything of it. Apparently that will now be illegal in TN. What does "prurient interest"* even mean? It's too vague to even be enforceable.

It defines “adult cabaret” performers as “topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, or similar entertainers, regardless of whether or not performed for consideration.”

Even the Republicans know drag is entertaining, they just pretend to be Karen's about it because it helps them gain power with the stupid people.

I often know I win a debate when the opposing side pretends I said something I did not.

They have no plans to work on any of the issues that they ran on last year -- inflation, immigration, oil production, etc. Instead they are focusing on non-issues that appeal to old church ladies, spinsters, and knuckledraggers as we see in this very thread, along with similar threads. Meanwhile, Biden and the (D)s ignore them and keep getting good things done for the people.

And they wonder why they keep losing elections.

They are all so worried about Drag Queen shows when in the news there is another story of a pastor that was molesting children. Churches prove to be far more dangerous to children than Drag Queen shows.
