Well, Obama is CinC. If he has a plan in mind, where the hell is it?
It's obvious he is out of his league when it comes to military and war. He hasn't a foggy clue what to do, and so does nothing while soldiers die. Too afraid of how his decisions will look to his constituency.
And, BTW, why is it people - and the media - have been so silent on Iraq since January? 135 U.S. military deaths in 2009 so far and we don't hear word one.

Why didn't he have an exit plan before this? In the meantime more of our troops are getting killed, their morale is down because they have a CIC who has great difficulty in making up his mind.

and you don't think listening to his generals on the ground, which he promised to do, requesting more troops will help the timeline and withdrawal issue? if he sends more troops as requested, don't you think this could potentially decrease our time there? if he just sits on his hands, the situation isn't going to change....

It's obvious Obama is not ready to risk the lives of TENS OF THOUSANDS more troops on the same old open-ended occupation until he can get some reassurances from the Afghanistan government that they will reign in their corruption.

You retard. Everything written about it says that he's going to send more troops, but the news last night was that he will not do it without the Pentagon giving him a workable pullout strategy and plan to commit to ending the occupation. That's about the smartest thing he could have done, and not what we would have gotten with McCain.
Sending troops keeps our current forces safer and helps accomplish whatever specific mission they formulate. But it's retarded to keep sending more and more troops to a war that's nine years old without being able to know when you can bring them home.

Actually we've had HUGE numbers of troops withdraw from Iraq in the last year or so.

how can we be certain? it is stupid to say....ok...one year regardless of the situation on the ground...obama has never advocated for such a policy...he has always said what is happening on the ground matters...
i am not exactly sure what his recent thinking is....he could think of numerous different scenarios about when its going to end, but none of that matters until he gets more boots on the ground...

what kind of assurances? are you actually claiming that they have never said anythign about reigning in corruption?
I heard Obama is waiting for a CBO score on any increase in troops in Afghanistan to ensure that whatever policy he implements is deficit-neutral and that he won't commit to any Afghanistan policy that raises the deficit by one dime. He's got to appease those deficit hawks in Congress.
