With no one winning more than 50% of the ballot, candidates Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson will advance to a runoff election on April 4.

Lightfoot was polling in third place, with Jesus “Chuy” Garcia in fourth. The incumbent called the Johnson campaign to concede shortly before addressing supporters, ABC7 Chicago reported.
