Double dip Conservatives have been praying for?

No - I pretty much always thought we'd hit the double digits.

Why is that interesting? Are you still smarting from your idiocy on the other thread?
Which thread is that? The one that you stopped posting in because you realized that it wasn't "idiocy"?

You basically come on here to post some short segment of how much of a "hack" I am then run away.

And it is interesting, because we agreed on that score.

I also said things like, "He's kind of foolish for promising that because unemployment will go way higher than that and these words will be used against him."

Then you did your regular beat and said, "Yer a hack!"

When I state that yer a hack, I do so mainly as a "conversation starter"....
Right. Because following me around like a little kid saying "hack" is the same as making a short open-ended statement of opinion that could actually start a conversation about something related to politics...

Weak.

Damo, I don't "follow you around like a little kid." I was engaged in some actual discussion on Dixie's "800 lb." gorilla thread, when you jumped in with your poorly reasoned "they just don't want to say it because Obama will have to do something about it" dud, and I just called it for what it is.

Seriously - that sounds like something meme might say. It wasn't a supportable comment, or one with any kind of objective insight. I know you probably still think it's "right," but it isn't; it's embarassing.

Except you do. Instead of just saying "hack" like somebody suffering from tourette's syndrome, wouldn't it be just a bit better to actually engage me as to why I think what I posted?

You don't do that, in fact you cease all engagement at all as soon as your *tick* presents itself.

I reacted in an honest way. Like I said, I don't think that kind of poorly thought-out hackery deserves a lot of thought or engagement.

You later backed off and called it a "conversation starter," but there is an old saying: say what you mean, and mean what you say. There is nothing to support the idea that people are refraining from calling it terrorism because then Obama would have to actually do something...it's the kind of biased speculation that extreme partisans throw out there with frequency, but not something I would consider a serious discussion topic, at least not on this planet.

Please. I didn't "back off"...

It's the regular pattern.

1. I say something that I think will generate conversation (I like it when people use the board) that also is a bit controversial but also falls within my opinion vector.

2. You come along and say "hack" and run away.

3. I point out that your ad hom does nothing to address what was at hand and ask you to engage me in conversation.

4. You don't, but others do.

5. Along the way you jump back in and say, "What you said here is not exactly the same as what you said there!" I point out that what I said there was just the start of a long conversation in which there was much context and the ideas were fleshed out along the way.

6. You say, "Hack" and run away again, to come back later and say "hack" some more.

7. I point out that saying "hack" is not an argument and does nothing to prove your assertions and ask you to engage me in conversation.

8. You say that you engage others in conversation, but are dismissive of anything I might say, and add one more quick "hack" because, like a tourette's patient, you can't help it.

For best results rinse and repeat...

You love to say "run away" almost as much as I love to say "hack."

On that particular comment, I didn't "run away." I said all there is to say about it. Again - it's a completely unsupportable comment, unless you have some quote or memo I don't know about.

However, I will endeavor in the future to minimize my use of the term "hack." To me, it's a quick way to assess comments like that one, but I can see it creates more of a distraction...

The only problem with your assertion here is with the fact that I stayed and supported the comment by fleshing out the ideas.

I think the disconnect must be in how I use the board.

My posts usually have these basic motives:

1. To generate a conversation to flesh out an idea that I have had running in my mind but need argument pro/con in order to fully flesh out that idea.

2. To keep people's interest in the board (these are the news stories that I post without comment, they usually are controversial opinion pieces.)

3. Something that I have an interest in that isn't mainstream (conspiracy).

In all of them I like to use what I see as the intelligence and insight of the members of this board to help me flesh out and fill in the dark corners of a basic idea (the first post in the thread). In order to be able to do that I need more than, "Yer a hack" and I am encouraging you (not so subtly) to please engage so that I can benefit from your intelligence and fill in or change my (not yet fully formed) idea and/or opinion.

Of course, there are also ones that I have a fully fleshed opinion and have had for a long time. Like my opinion that the best solution for the whole "gay marriage" controversy would have been (and still is) to keep the government out of religious ceremonies to begin with.

what a long painful recovery......Jarod, is this really something you're bragging about.....that it took him six years to deliver a so-so economic recovery?.......

It is clear from reading this thread that the Ibama economy far exceeded expectations of the Cons who were expecting a double dip recession after the Bush recession.

by "far exceeded" you mean it actually made it to "so-so" when we didn't think it ever would?.........isn't momma proud of her liddle obimkins......

they crash the entire world economy for the second time In one lifetime with their historically failed ideas and then blame the guy who fixes what they broke for fixing it too slow.

these people are evil

Well, at the end of Bush's presidency you Cons looked at the shambles the economy was in and predicted a double dip... Obama took over and turned that trajectory around and avoided going off that cliff.

Far exceeding the expectations of people like SUPERCANDY!
