GOP lawmakers criticize Biden for not sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

You are delusional. The US could defeat the S600 too. We have stealth jets and HARM missiles.

This war is not about "winning", its about fueling the military industrial complex and screwing citizens worldwide with the inflation and shortages.

Giving F-16s for sure insures WWIII. Have to hope Joe ain't THAT demented.

I believe we should audit how our money to Ukraine is being spent. Just giving Ukraine money without oversight is ripe for fraud.

Absolutely! Just think... In one (1) year, Joke has given Ukraine roughly $500 billion in military aid. That's half of what the US spent in Afghanistan on a war that lasted almost two decades. Ukraine is a monstrous sinkhole of unaccounted cash going to fight a war we have no business being in in the first place.

I wonder how many f16 does the Netherlands have?

  • The Royal Netherlands Air Force purchased a total of 213 F-16A/B aircraft. The Netherlands were one of the four European Participating Air Forces, and one of 5 countries to build the F-16 locally. Force reductions saw the fleet reduced to 68 aircraft, all of them upgraded to MLU standard.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Republican lawmakers on Sunday criticized the Biden administration for not sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, as tensions simmer about whether China could send weapons to help Russia in the year-long war.

But White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said they're providing Ukraine with the military aid needed to retake territory seized by Russia and that China has yet to supply military equipment. The domestic politics of support for Ukraine are also complicated by some Republican lawmakers who say the administration should pull back and focus more on domestic needs.

Texas Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, told ABC's “This Week” that planes and long-range artillery could help end the war on a faster timeline.

“This whole thing is taking too long,” McCaul said. “And it really didn't have to happen this way.”................

Ukraine needs F16s ASAP. Biden is dragging out this war. He is getting people killed. The Ukrainians need air superiority now. Ukraine need tanks and F16s now so they can bring this thing to a resolution faster.

And the other half of the GOP criticize Biden for sending to much aid to the Ukraine including the party’s leading Presidential candidates

Did you actually think the US gave the Ukraine a blank check to spend anywhere they wanted?

All this aid money is keeping a lot of employees in America working overtime

I don't believe that ' hope ' is the answer. He has to be prevented.

I have mixed emotions about it. The US stands for freedom and should assist other countries that want freedom. It is easy to say we shouldn't help but we have to look at what would happen if we did not help. Would Moscow be happy at stopping at Ukraine or would they take the Baltic states then Poland etc? Would Russia use wheat as a weapon like they did gas? Would a Russian victory embolden them on the World stage?

WE also have to look at the negatives of the war. It could draw us into a nuclear exchange. Possible but Russia knows no one would win that one. It could push Russia closer to China likely IMHO but I think that was inevitable anyway. I think if we made it clear we would sanction companies doing business with Russia's military by giving them weapons or selling them to Russia. I think China would be reluctant to sell Russia munitions.

So after weighing pros and cons I think it is our interest to bring this thing to a quick successful end for Ukraine. Getting the weapons in the hands of Ukraine as quickly as possible is important. F16s, Long range HIMARS, tanks, Bradlys, Patriots etc.

If Bungling Biden would let the Netherlands give their F16s to Ukraine it could enforce its own no fly zone. Netherlands is replacing their F
Are these the same Repubs saying we should end Ukraine assistance? Are you one of them? Reds like to have things both ways.
In fact, Biden has no input in the dutch decision. https://nltimes.nl/2023/01/31/rutte-macron-biden-yet-ready-give-ukraine-f-16-jets France and the Netherlands are debating whether they will send jets Don't you wish Biden would make up their minds?

When foreign countries buy F16s from the US they sign an agreement that the US has to approve of any transfer of their jets. Plus the US could stop the sale of any spare parts. Now don't you feel dumb.

“Ukraine submitted a request to the Netherlands for the supply of F-16 fighter jets. This was confirmed by Minister of Defense Kajsa Ollongren,” the message reads.

Ollongren commented that the request was understandable, but not easy to fulfill.

“We need to discuss the availability of the F-16 with the Americans and other allies (...) And we have to look seriously at the consequences – it can’t just happen overnight. We have to be honest about that,” she said.

She also noted that before the Ukrainian armed forces can use fighter jets, its fighter jet pilots must undergo appropriate training.

In addition, the planes are a U.S. defense system, so Ukraine will be able to get F-16 fighters only with the permission of the United States....

I don't think that the Republicans have consensus on this issue.
Many of them are pro-Russia, just like the diseased orangutan.
