"NOW: Disgraced former South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh, who is on trial for murder in the deaths of his wife and son, is back on the stand for more cross-examination. During testimony on Thursday, he denied the charges.
Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and two weapons charges in the June 2021 killings of Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh and 22-year-old son Paul Murdaugh at the family’s estate in Islandton, South Carolina."

He must be testifying against his lawyer's best advice or going for an insanity defense. From the snippets I've seen the guy's not helping himself.

"At least one attorney is predicting a prompt acquittal for Alex Murdaugh in his double murder trial.

Anahita Sedaghatfar told "Fox News @ Night" she initially thought Murdaugh – who is accused of killing his wife and one of his sons, Paul – would be faced with a hung jury, but now believes Colleton County, South Carolina jurors may be "sympathizing" with him."

"I see a not-guilty [verdict] and I see it very quickly," Sedaghatfar said Tuesday.

Murdaugh -- whose tenure as district solicitor in South Carolina's Low Country concluded an 86-year electoral grip on the prosecutor's office by his family – took the stand in his defense last week and conducted himself well, the attorney said."

Wow - shades of the O.J. trial, except O.J. never testified in his criminal trial.
 
Guilty of double murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They didn't deliberate very long.

I've been watching the updates. I think he's going to walk on the murders but be convicted on the embezzlement and other crimes. What's the most he can get there?

Wow! Good for them. Without a murder weapon or the bloody clothes, they convicted him of double murder. Sometimes justice wins. W00t!

Well, you guessed wrong. Sentencing will be tomorrow - 30 years to life for each charge.

Smacks of celebrity gossip shit to me, but NBC Nightly News has been showing it night after night. Blech. Glad he was convicted. Maybe now we can move on to things that matter.
