Nikki Haley fires back at Whoopi Goldberg: 'If my age is all they have, it means we’r

So you do not have a reasonable answer...and do not have what it takes to acknowledge that. Okay. With you...it was what I expected.

Anyway, for discussion sake, maybe abortion is not "so abhorrent." In some ways, perhaps it is the moral course to take.

For those who suppose there is a GOD...and who suppose that the GOD they suppose exists is the god of the Bible...abortion in many cases could easily be the course favored by that god. Maybe it is the course, if defeated, that goes against the wishes of the god and, incidentally, ends up being to the distinct disadvantage of the fetus become human.

Maybe that is the reason Jesus did not specifically speak out against it.

Right? Just maybe.

The secret about the old testament is that the demiurge yaldabaoth is not the true god.

yaldabaoth does eat babies.

When you want to grow up and actually have a discussion, let me know. We can do so. If you want to just fuck around...do it by yourself.

right. you're the expert on christianity, and christ was pro-abortion.

At no point have I said or intimated that I am THE expert on Christianity...although I have studied Christianity in depth and I am knowledgeable about it.

Nor have I in any way indicated that Jesus was pro-abortion.

Are you insisting that he had to be anti-abortion?

And if you are...WHY DID HE NOT MAKE A BIG POINT OF IT BY SPECIFICALLY CONDEMNING IT?

That is the point of my question.

now whos fucking around?

YOU are the one fucking around. Why not stop and actually have a discussion?

I answered your dumb point already.

He probably he figured he didn't have to say it because it's obvious.

It seems that abortion was a curse, a punishment for the sin of infidelity.

Numbers 5:27-28
27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.
28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children."

And we know that Jesus said, he who has not sinned cast the first stone.

Jesus always had to be careful that he did not directly contradict Jewish or Roman law.

And if Joseph was not Jesus's real father, then Jesus Himself should have been aborted.

jesus pissed all over all kinds of dumb laws.

he was mostly a rebel, not a good little jew. thats the whole plot of the new testament.

It is not obvious.

If it were obvious...Jesus would not have simply put it aside. He would have condemned it...and would have done so in a way that would have been recorded.

MAYBE he saw something about it that showed it not to be "obvious" that it was "wrong."

And the point I am making is not "dumb." It is annoying because it is so difficult to answer.

Okay...let's get to Jesus.

You are really struggling with this, Dog.

Tough one.

Tough to figure out why Jesus did not condemn abortion...hence the struggling.

Good on you for doing it, though.

One can make a guess.

As I said above to the other guy, MAYBE he saw something about it that showed it not to be "obvious" that it was "wrong."

That could be it.

it's clearly wrong.

the world contains things we all do everyday though we try to be better.

alcohol is "wrong" by any measure, but we don't deny its wrong just because we are slightly fallen, and we still will drink. don't destroy the notion of right and wrong because you are not perfect. that would be deranged narcissistic criminality.

Things are NOT obviously wrong simply because YOU choose to deem them so.

do you think keeping the baby and raising it with love and care would be jesus's FIRST piece of advice on the matter?

at best jesus would have been a clintonian, safe, legal and rare democrat.

do you agree?

Yes, I've always argued against an abortion "for economic reasons", from a modern scientific standpoint.

Frank, if He had condemned the practice of stoning, he would have been arrested. I believe if He had condemned the punishment of abortion, He would have been arrested, too.

In 3rd world countries, children are considered a financial asset. In 1st world countries, they are viewed as a financial burden.

Before the 20th century, it was common for women to have 10 children, ... and have half of them die in birth or childhood.

guano keeps mentioning that......its based upon mediaeval science which said the unborn child was "water".....do you think we should use better science now that its available?......

Are we pretending now that Religious Beliefs should only be protected if founded in defensible science?

Is that the new game to say 'others religious beliefs do not matter'?

I would have grown to be a wild man raised by hyenas, and gone back and burned down the village.
That's the meth talking, Fredo. You'd have become food for a coyote and her cubs.

The good news is that experienced predators are good at the quick kill. In a world where they are completely on their own, they know a wound could become fatal so live prey can be dangerous. They'd go for your throat and rip it out, then drag your carcass back to their den.

I'd probably still win that fight.

Im a badass and stuff.

do you think keeping the baby and raising it with love and care would be jesus's FIRST piece of advice on the matter?

I have no idea. But wanting that...and getting it from someone who wants an abortion are two different things.

My guess is that many (perhaps most) children who are born of a mother who was forced to give birth...may end up in unloving environments...and would not be raised with love and care.

at best jesus would have been a clintonian, safe, legal and rare democrat.

Would not surprise me. BUT that still does not answer the question of why Jesus did not condemn abortion.

It seems to me the "safe, legal, and rare" position is the best of all positions...which is the position for which I advocate. IT SHOULD BE LEGAL...IT SHOULD BE SAFE...AND WE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO MAKE IT AS RARE AS WE CAN.

do you agree?

Of course I do. That is what I have been arguing for all along.

Take it in parts:

IT SHOULD BE LEGAL. No laws should be made making it illegal at any point. The choice of having an abortion should be made by the woman in whose body the pregnancy is occurring.

IT SHOULD BE SAFE (as possible). Obviously that means it should be done with a professional doing the procedure in a professional setting...not by some back alley hack using a hanger.

AND IT SHOULD BE RARE. Which means we should NOT be restricting access to contraception methods...and should be encouraging their use.
