There's certain times people on the outside see things more clearly than those on the inside, and then times when that's not the case. Democrats have a vested interest in promoting Trump and saying he's unbeatable because (for very understandable reasons) he's the candidate you want to face. Therefore all these people proclaiming months ahead of time, before DeSantis has even declared, that Trump will win have a vested interest in that narrative.
Yes, Trump will have a core base of supporters who will not waiver (think Bernie Sanders) but it's not big enough to win anymore. Liberals who spend their time talking to other liberals have very little insight into what those on the right think. And a lot of ex-Trump supporters are moving on to the DeSantis train.
Edit: you have to remember that not everyone in this country's life revolves around the President and politics; not everyone spends their time talking about it on political boards and arguing politics on a daily basis. So Trump having an early lead in the polls when DeSantis hasn't even declared means nothing because Trump has the name recognition. Plenty of front runners in the past have flamed out so leading early is no guarantee of success.
