A guest on MSNBC launched a racially charged attack against former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday night, accusing the Republican presidential candidate of using her “brown skin to launder white supremacist talking points.”

“I see her and I feel sad because she uses her brown skin as a weapon against poor black folks and poor brown folks, and she uses her brown skin to launder white supremacist talking points,” Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali said on “The Mehdi Hasan Show.”

Just how do you know that he isn't right on?

Give us an example of how she uses her ethnicity to launder white supremacy talking points... and when you can't find anything you will have your answer...;)

Personally I dont follow her, dont listen to her and could care less about her. What was once a rising moderate Republican governor, has sold herself out to become another Trump MAGA. The woman has no political future.

You certainly seem to care a great deal about her...;)

I guess you have a bit of reading comprehension issues. As I said, she was once a moderate rising star, today she is nothing but a joke.

If you didn't care about her you wouldn't be going on about her so... and if you thought her to be a joke you just ignore her... he's got your attention;)

You can't be a representative for the ethnic immigrant class if you are ashamed of it. She ditched her family's Sikh religion and refuses to use her given first name Nimrata in concerted attempts to conform to white Anglo-Saxon expectations.

White lib racist scum

Democrats are still pissed at Nikki Haley for removing their Confederate flag from the South Carolina State Capitol.

:palm:

This claim isn't new, it's stated about any non-white person who is 1) conservative or 2) Republican or 3) may not be conservative or a Republican but holds heterodox racial views

The dichotomy is fascinating when the same people claim both 1) America is a melting pot and 2) if you are an immigrant and assimilate you aren't authentic and it's even more fascinating when its done by white people

As far as Haley a book could be written about white people who would likely proclaim themselves to be progressive thinkers and non-racists and their obsession with her name. Irony is ironic.

What's your opinion of Nikki? I do not ignore Joe... but did you just call him a joke?

I suggested you and many on the right see Biden as a joke but that doesn't prevent you from talking about him. Why would people not talk about someone they see as a joke?

For the children of immigrants, the road to acceptance in America can be a bumpy one. There will be pain. There will be embarrassment. There will be relentless, cruel accusations from your brethren that you are assimilating at the expense of your true cultural heritage. And the stories of the children of immigrants who rise to positions of influence and power are especially inspiring given the challenges before them.

Not so inspiring? Lying about where you’re from, like South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), the American-born child of Indian parents, might have done. The Associated Press reports that in 2001, Haley listed her race as “white” on her voter registration form.

“Haley has been appearing on television interviews where she calls herself a minority—when it suits her,” Harpootlian said. “When she registers to vote she says she is white. She has developed a pattern of saying whatever is beneficial to her at the moment.”

I was responding to Florida who said this:

Did you miss that because we're not on the same page here...;)

Nikki Haley’s campaign opened with an appeal to race. Some Indian Americans say it won’t work.

Haley, born Nimrata Randhawa to Sikh Punjabi parents, is trying to make inroads with Indian Americans, experts say it’s not working.

She doesn’t represent the community, said Varun Nikore, executive director of the AAPI Victory Alliance, a nonprofit group representing Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. In fact, Nikore said, “there’s a multitude of issues where she specifically and the Republican Party are diametrically opposed to where AAPIs are.”

Some South Asians say Haley’s on-and-off acknowledgment of her ethnic background is a routine they’re familiar with. Nikore, who has followed Haley’s career since the beginning, says her use of her racial identity often goes hand-in-hand with perpetuating the model minority myth, taking anti-immigration stances and opposing comprehensive education about race in the U.S.

“I think people can see through her much better now than ever before,” Nikore said. “So she can try to talk about her immigrant background, I think it’s going to fall flat.”
