Before the rise of politically-oriented televangelists, Jimmy Carter made his personal experience as a “born again” Christian into a key tenet of his platform. “I can give you a government that’s honest and that’s filled with love, competence, and compassion,” he pledged.

When the scramble for the Democratic nomination began, Carter was widely seen as a long shot. But by the time the primary season was half over, he had left the other, better-known Democratic contenders in the dust. That he was able to compete with them at all–that is, to raise money and enlist volunteers–owed to the national exposure he had received for his inaugural address as governor of Georgia in 1971.

Carter, like Clinton, as was Obama and Biden, all followed the worst GOP trash presidents in US history and all cleaned up their mess, all got 4 years, save of Biden, thus far and all served this country well.

He was a good guy but a fucking train wreck as a president. The only thing I will remember about him is the day be left office the hostages i Iran were freed. The Iranians knew he was a toothless wind bag just like Biden. Having said all that though unlike you leftists vermin I dont wish him any ill. The Iranian hostage situation was a historical event. I don't base why whole history on it, whatever the fuck that means. What myth are you pointing to here? Are you suggesting it not a fact that the Iranian hostages were released moments after Reagan was inaugurated? Or is that evidence of the Iranian collusion delusion?
