EV’s Move to Mainstream

It's because they associate anything "green" with Democrat evil. If you own an EV, you're a "tree-hugger"!

They can say whatever they want. The EV revolution is rolling on and there's not a fucking damn thing they can do about it.

Toyota’s first next-gen EV will be a Lexus
The new CEO’s plan for electric cars includes new “fully optimized” Lexus vehicles arriving by 2026.
Toyota’s incoming CEO said the automaker would release “next-generation” electric cars under the Lexus brand by 2026. This is just one part of a new strategy in development to overcome problems linked to a slow and expensive EV manufacturing process.
Toyota will also be expanding its current EV lineup, which currently consists of the bZ4X crossover SUV and the Subaru Solterra EV built on top of Toyota’s e-TNGA flexible EV platform. Lexus has yet to release its RZ 450e SUV that’s based on the same platform.

Gas has dropped to 3 bucks. You are not honest, but then you never intended to be.

EVs are just … normal now. Lots of people drive them for lots of reasons, not just your colorful hippie aunt or your tech bro brother-in-law who will not shut up about his Tesla Model S. They are just cars. EVs accounted for 5.8 percent of cars sold in the United States in 2022, up from just more than 3 percent the year before. In California, almost 18 percent of new cars sold are fully electric. In part thanks to the tax breaks and incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act, the price of EVs is also finally coming down to parity with the price of gasoline-powered cars.
But incentives and competitive prices can only do so much. People have to want to buy the car. If we are to hit President Joe Biden’s goal of cutting greenhouse-gas emissions in half by 2030, much of the country will need to switch to EVs. Making electric cars cool could help. But something even better is on the horizon, from a mass-adoption standpoint.

I see more EV ads on TV nowadays than ads for gas cars. Gas cars are old technology. EVs are the future.

TESLA’S NEW CYBERTRUCK ALREADY HAS A REPORTED 1.5 MILLION PRE-ORDERS: ‘I CAN WAIT FOR A GOOD THING’

“No matter what you think of Elon Musk or Tesla as a company, the automaker’s vehicle programs themselves have never disappointed.”
by Laurelle Stelle*/*February 15, 2023

Tesla could be looking forward to record-breaking sales with its newest vehicle — the Cybertruck.*
This unique “electric pickup truck” has caught the world’s attention with 1.5 million orders placed already ahead of its release next year, according to Fred Lambert of Electrek (@electrek.co on Instagram).
The Cybertruck has experienced delays since its announcement in 2019, pushing back its release date from late 2021 to mid-2023. But that hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm of Tesla fans. While estimates of pre-sale numbers are taken from a crowdsourced Google doc rather than any official source, it seems clear that interest is high.

I wonder why the increase in popularity and sales of EVs gets their panties all soggy.

Ferrari CEO compliments Tesla for shaking up the automotive industry

While speaking at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters with Bloomberg News, Vigna stated that Tesla accelerated change in the auto industry. He also shared what he learned from the young carmaker.

“The big contribution that Tesla has made to the automotive industry? It was a wake-up call. Things used to happen too slowly. Tesla shook up the industry and accelerated processes and decisions. They were faster and more agile,” the Ferrari CEO said.

Ferrari is on track to unveil its first all-electric car in 2025, with deliveries commencing the following year. With this in mind, Vigna also proved very optimistic about the company’s upcoming electric cars.

“Electrification is a new way to provide our customers a unique driving experience, and I’ve no doubt that our electric powertrains will give clients the same thrills of combustion engines. The point is how to extract the best emotion from the use of this technology, giving something unique to the clients,” Vigna said.

EV’s Move to Mainstream at Chicago Auto Show
Published Feb 9, 2023 at 5:06 PM
The sound of the test tracks at the 2023 Chicago Auto Show will be a little quieter this time around as silent electric motors replace revving gasoline engines on many of the hottest cars.
“I think what we are seeing now is that EV’s are mainstream,” said Robert Kelter, the senior attorney at the Environmental Law and Policy Center.
Kelter said driving an EV is about more than just saving the planet, it’s about saving money. On top of government incentives that can shave $7,500 off the price of some new models, the average driver can expect to see about the same savings in the first five years of ownership when compared to a gas-powered model.
Ford has a special track at this year’s show to spotlight its new F-150 Lightning pickup truck. In addition to going from zero to 60 miles an hour in about four seconds, the battery powered EV can also act as a generator and power your house for up to three days.
“As infrastructure increases, we are starting to see more and more adopters,” Ford spokesperson Rhonda Bambrick said.
The numbers seem to corroborate Bambrick’s point. Bloomberg NEF expects manufacturers to deliver 13.6 million EV’s this year as opposed to 10 million last year.

The choices for drivers are also growing, as more trucks and SUVs are coming in pure electric and hybrid electric models. Jeep is offering a plug-in version of its classic Willys model while Nissan is showing the all-wheel-drive version of its Aria EV for the first time here in Chicago.

Tesla’s Model Y Sells Out for first quarter

U.S. car buyers wanting a Tesla TSLA +2.38% Model Y will have to wait a little longer.
Tesla has sold out its popular Model Y crossover vehicles for the first quarter, said Electrek on Wednesday. The estimated delivery times for Model Ys on Tesla’s U.S. website now shows April to June. At the start of February the delivery estimate was from February to March.

The change to EVs is well on its way. It is making its steady inexorable march into garages and dealerships. ICE people can close their eyes and stamp their feet in childish anger, but it is happening. The EV infrastructure is being created.

EV Automakers Bring A Range Of Exciting Developments In Q1

Despite ongoing macroeconomic challenges and supply chain obstacles, the global EV market is gearing itself for yet another banner year of performance and growth. Ongoing consumer demand, against the backdrop of government support and sustainable legislation, is helping to fuel the global industry, as household names in the automaker industry seize the opportunity to release their version of the battery electric vehicle.

Data revealed that global sales for EVs and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) doubled in Q1 2022 compared to the same period a year before, and this year is looking no different.

Shipment for passenger battery electric vehicles grew 90% year-over-year, and by the end of 2022, global shipment saw more than 1.95 million units transported across the world.

With growing consumer demand, traditional automakers have seen a valuable opportunity to enter the market, with big-league names such as Volkswagen, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, and BMW, among others all releasing their own EV version.

Other household names in the EV industry, including Tesla, Rivian, Lucid Group, and BYD have been fighting to remain on top, as new contenders enter the market with more affordable options that give them better charging range, and value for money.

The first quarter of the year is already looking promising, as droves of new EVs are set to launch this year, with some already in production.

There's a lot of that going around in the MAGA world. Their insanity increased exponentially when their coup failed in 2020.

This will surely makes MAGA wet their panties:

ULTRA-FAST ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS ARE COMING TO IKEA IN 18 STATES — AND THE COMPANY’S DELIVERY FLEET IS GOING ELECTRIC TOO

Now, you can enjoy a plate of Swedish meatballs, start a fight with your partner, and charge your EV at one store.
by Abby Jackson*/*February 19, 2023

Your favorite Swedish meatball supplier is teaming up with Electrify America to add new ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to 25 stores across 18 states.*
This collaboration will quadruple the current number of IKEA’s EV chargers, adding 200 individual ultra-fast chargers across the country at IKEA retail locations.
Each new charger can charge at some of the fastest charging speeds available today, between 150 kilowatts (kW) and 350 kW. At a 150 kW charger, a Tesla Model X can get 6.25 miles of range per minute of charging.*

I'm so glad President Biden is making EV and battery technology a priority.
It must make the REPUBLICLOWNS like Marjorie Taylor Gazpacho lose their shit.

I find that rather amusing.
