Netanyahu said that Israel had received requests through diplomatic channels to assist in Syria, and that aid would be provided there.

“A request was also received to [provide relief] for the many who were injured in the earthquake in Syria,” Netanyahu said, and therefore he has “instructed that this be done.”

Thousands now, and probably more to follow. Makes us feel so helpless when we're far away and unable to help in person. Hope ppl will consider donating to MSF, IFRC, etc. If you know other good relief organizations to donate to, please share.

They are a country containing human beings with children just like ours. One of the most beautiful things about humanity is that in times of crisis like this, most of us put aside our hatreds and differences and help one another. I hope you will do the same. Please consider donating to international organizations like MSF or Red Cross/Red Crescent or even your local church if they're gathering donations for the people there.

We're all in this together, you know.

Israel said on Monday that it had received a Syrian request for assistance with earthquake relief for the Arab state and that it was prepared to oblige, in what would be rare cooperation between the enemy neighbours.

The Syrian pro-government newspaper Al Watan cited an official source as denying Damascus had made such a request of Israel, however.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech he had ordered aid sent to Turkey, the epicentre of Monday's earthquake, with the airlifts that began in the afternoon.



"Since a request was also received to do this for many victims of the earthquake in Syria, I instructed to do this as well," he said at the ceremony in a hospital near Tel Aviv.

In later televised remarks to his party, Netanyahu said the request for humanitarian relief for Syria had been relayed "by a diplomatic official" - whom he did not identify.

"I approved this, and I reckon that these things will be carried out soon," Netanyahu said.

We're only going to survive long-term as a species if we make this transition. Empathy & compassion are what we need to be about.

Thanks. Empathy and compassion are both attributes of the concept of "woke." As we've seen, the RW is hell bent on dissing woke and those who have it.
