Why accusations about Trump and the Russians will go nowhere
By Monica Showalter
The recent controversy surrounding President Trump and his supposed ties to Moscow has always been a non-starter for me. We are supposed to believe the word of unnamed intelligence officials ensconced in the Beltway suburbs without a drop of firsthand experience, busy leaking to reporters because they are upset about the result of the last election? Already there's a motivation problem right there.

But I have my own experience that makes me think the whole thing is nonsense except as a partisan setup.

The latest news is that House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) has stated that there is no evidence that the Trump camp had any significant contact or coordination with the Russians during the election campaign or shortly after, and he warned against a "witch hunt" over it.

He's right, and I believe him.

Brandon didn't send the balloon.

Brandon? There were 3 during Trump. the difference is that people did not know about them. If Trump was told, and he may not have been, he would have shot them down and bragged about that forever. Biden followed military suggestions and waited til it got over water so it could be retrieved in better condition and not hurt civilians as it came down from 60 K feet. Now they can go over the balloon components and see what China found out and what technology they have.

How bad off is a woman who cant even GIVE AWAY free blowjobs anymore? Pretty frikkin bad.....;)

The Milley boys at the Pentagon have come up with a new public relations "save" for Joe Biden and his pathetic indecisiveness about a China spy balloon brazenly traversing the continental United States until it was shot down over the Atlantic yesterday.

According to the Pentagon's website, defense.gov:

[cut]

You know the press is going to be dining out on this for the next ten news cycles.

There's just one problem, though -- the claim that Trump saw three Chinese balloons traverse through the U.S. on his watch and did nothing is ... deflating fast.

First, we have an explicit denial from someone who would have known.

According to the Daily Mail:

The revelation startled Mark Esper, the former Secretary of Defense, and comes as Trump and other Republicans claimed he would have shot down the balloon while calling on Joe Biden to resign over the stalled attack on the craft.

...and...

Esper told CNN that he was 'surprised' by the Pentagon's statement, saying he was never told about Chinese surveillance balloons entering the US when he served between July 2019 to November 2020.

'I don't ever recall somebody coming into my office or reading anything that the Chinese had a surveillance balloon above the United States,' Esper said, adding that 'I would remember that for sure.'

He wasn't the only one. There's also him:

Tonight, it's been reported that at least 3 Chinese spy balloons crossed the U.S. during Trump's administration.

Yesterday afternoon, Mike Pompeo told Fox News he was not aware of this happening "during our four years in office"

The idea that there were 3 instances during Trump’s presidency is made up to cover for Burden.

as both Trump's Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State have said THEY were not notified, it would appear apparent Trump was not either......

PRC government surveillance balloons transited the continental United States briefly at least three times during the prior administration and once that we know of at the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time.

so basically what?....went somewhere across Alaska and then into Canada?.....

That is false. Those balloons have been observed all over the world.

so you have evidence that the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State and Trump were notified that balloons were over US air space?.....or are you just basing it upon evidence that balloons have been observed all over the world.......because those are obviously two completely different things.....

because a balloon could have traversed Alaska near Juneau and entered Canadian air space in approximately 7 minutes......

I see that you didn't read the transcript.

Tell me... what do you think Trump should have done?

And why are we even talking about Trump? The balloon was shot down and it's contents are being analyzed as we speak.

I read the entire transcript and quoted the only words that mentioned the three prior times that balloons entered US air space....
What should Trump have done if he had been notified that for seven minutes a surveillance balloon had flown over Juneau?.......I suppose he could have asked Trudeau if he wanted to borrow an airplane to shoot it down over Canada......

And why are we even talking about Trump? The balloon was shot down and it's contents are being analyzed as we speak.

good question.....but this may be the answer....
