New Jersey Spent $520K of COVID Funds on Officials’ SUVs

The state government used more than half a million dollars of its $6.24 billion in COVID relief funds to buy SUVs to transport Gov. Phil Murphy and other officials around the state. Here’s how the rest of the money was spent.
Much of the federal coronavirus relief money went to help hospitals, assistance programs, and counties in New Jersey recover and rebuild after the pandemic.

The state government also used more than half a million dollars to buy SUVs to carry Gov. Phil Murphy and state officials around the state.

The expenditures were revealed in a memo the state Treasury Department recently sent to state lawmakers detailing 46 ways New Jersey allocated millions from the $6.24 billion in COVID-19 relief money it received from the U.S. government.....

So you and I were taxed so the New Jersey governor could ride around in a shiny new SUV.

As opposed to walking everywhere? I don't understand what you're so mad about here when you're the one who said COVID was a hoax.
Show me where I said COVID was a hoax. So the NJ governor didn't have an official car already?? News to me. Do you ever think before you post??

So the NJ governor didn't have an official car already?

Maybe it was old and shitty, just like you.

News to me.

Maybe you should have done that research ahead of posting this shit so you don't have to be so surprised by things.

Do you ever think before you post??

Do you?????

We already know you don't bother to do any research or due diligence into the garbage you post on JPP every day...

I love how these MAGA trolls ignore twump's idiocy of bashing states that took protective measures, encouraging people to drink horse paste and drink bleach - OH! I'm sorry, wrong subject.

Express is talking about waste and fraud. So, I guess it must really bother him that twump banked millions in his properties by making everyone in his administration stay there during travel whether it was convenient or not, as well as foreign dignitaries attempting to curry favor. and...

OH! Remember how twump helped MBS cover up the murder of the WaPo journalist? Jarod made secret trips over to see MBS on US dime. Then.. guess what? Jarod gets a $2 billion unsecured loan, and Twump, Inc. gets $$$ from Saudi dignitaries staying in his properties.

But SUVs.. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :)

No source, too funny, anyone want to bet; breitfart? Gateway? InfoWars? Examiner? TownHall? Tucker? “Daily Caller? RT? or one of the other propagandists MAGA sources?

Oh, so you accept that COVID is deadly, has killed 1M people, and being vaccinated against it is good judgment?

Because if so, I'll happily apologize for getting you wrong.
I accept that COVID is deadly for old, fat, or chronically ill people. Young healthy people probably never needed the vaccine because very few young healthy people had many problems with COVID. .Well you admit that the vaccine doesn't prevent transmission of COVID.

My daughter in law is fully vaccinated and has had COVID twice. My grandson had it once and had a fever and sniffles for a day or two.

NY Post and Rudy is who they seem to flock to now for all their news.

Florida got $8.8 billion in ARPA funding. Through a partnership with The Marshall Project, Axios found that:

The state budgeted $20 million of the money to build a new Florida National Guard armory in Zephyrhills, "to address capacity impacts related to COVID." The state claimed the new space will allow the guard to recruit and train 450 new service members. Only $1.8 million has been spent on the project so far.

Coral Springs spent $43,000 of its money on ballistic rifle plates, a type of body armor, for fire and EMS workers.

Tampa — which had the biggest police department budget increase among America's largest cities last year — spent $15.6 million of its ARPA money on police salary and benefits, vehicles, aviation maintenance and body cameras for police.

Sounds like money well spent.

NJ??? That shit was happening everywhere. A lot of new cars were paid for with COVID money.
Our esteemed mayor at the time, Ethan Berkowitz , this is him:

used the money to buy up three hotels at a premium price (they weren't for sale) to put the homeless in.

Our leaders have been busy making dollars and getting them out the door, they barely care how they are spent. That is how we got this inflation problem mostly. The reason they are doing it is to prop up the economy, which is completely wrecked. Political leaders and Deep State are working to keep the people in the dark about this for as long as possible. The cost of this is making the inevitable crash worse, and ruining our reputation all around the world, helping to make China's case that America is too irresponsible to be allowed to remain in global leadership.

Sounds like money well spent.

That's what Biden said when he learned of this.

He said, "This only proves that my Administration is having none of the "Defunding The Police" insanity, as we are actually funding police departments across America with this Bill"!

If you look at how the states spent their Covid relief money, every state across the nation spent portions of their money on Police spending projects.

We spent our money here in Texas on Border Security projects as well as Police.
