California firefighters use 6,000 gallons of water to put out "spontaneous" Tesla car

The BIG OIL companies are starting to commit to producing Blue Hydrogen, and Detroit has committed to manufacturing Electric Vehicles.

Somewhere there is a middle ground they will all commit too, sooner or later.

But you are right about the Blue Hydrogen being a part of our future.

Won't happen. I have already described why.

* the hydrogen must be manfuctured.
* the hydrogen must be compressed.
* the hydrogen tanks are high pressure, and subject to hydrogen embrittlement.
* pumping hydrogen fuel can easily take to 30 minutes to refuel a car due to pressure drop and the resulting temperature drop.
* batteries are still required to act as electrical ballast. These are again Li-ion battery packs.
* the fuel cell requires the use of iridium and palladium to manufacturer, two very expensive rare elements.
* even at 3000psi, energy density is much lower than gasoline by weight and volume.

Try to think outside the Birdcage!

Thanks!

No one said these buyers were smart!

A market like Norway is a good example and window into the future of the broader auto industry with now over 80% of new cars sales being electric, and fossil fuel-powered vehicle sales have slowed to a crawl.

This is actually a terrible example. The ONLY reason Norway has such a high percentage of EV sales is government interference in the market.

The Norwegian EV incentives:
No purchase/import tax on EVs (1990-2022). From 2023 some purchase tax based on the cars’ weight on all new EVs.
Exemption from 25% VAT on purchase (2001-2022). From 2023, Norway will implement a 25 percent VAT on the purchase price from 500 000 Norwegian Kroner and over
No annual road tax (1996-2021). Reduced tax from 2021. Full tax from 2022.
No charges on toll roads (1997- 2017).
No charges on ferries (2009- 2017).
Maximum 50% of the total amount on ferry fares for electric vehicles (2018)
Maximum 50% of the total amount on toll roads (2018-2022). From 2023 70%
Free municipal parking (1999- 2017)
Access to bus lanes (2005-). New rules allow local authorities to limit the access to only include EVs that carry one or more passengers (2016-)
25% reduced company car tax (2000-2008). 50 % reduced company car tax (2009-2017). Company car tax reduction reduced to 40% (2018-2021) and 20 percent from 2022.
Exemption from 25% VAT on leasing (2015-)
The Norwegian Parliament decided on a national goal that all new cars sold by 2025 should be zero-emission (electric or hydrogen) (2017).
«Charging right» for people living in apartment buildings was established (2017-)
Public procurement: From 2022 cars needs to be ZEV. From 2025 the same applies to city buses

That's the official Norwegian government website on that, so there's no denying it.

Norway also has banned the sale of ALL ICE cars by 2025

Norway was the first country in the world to propose a ban on the sale of gasoline cars by switching to an electric-powered vehicle. The proposed ban was announced in 2016, with a plan to completely ban the sale of all gasoline cars by 2025.
https://www.worldatlas.com/articles...the world, sale of all gasoline cars by 2025.

So, if you are a Norwegian, are you going to buy an EV that gets massive tax breaks and other incentives, or an ICE vehicle that will be heavily penalized and in three years will no longer be available in your nation? The answer is obvious, and the reason is equally so.

THE ONLY REASON EV'S ARE SUCCEEDING IN THE MARKET IS DUE TO GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION FORCING THEM ON THE PUBLIC

I have a friend who was a fireman and he said he put out lots of car fires. I asked if he ever saw one explode and he said "nope'. It was routine easy to put out and not very dangerous to deal with. ICEs burn at 4 times the rate of EVs.

Lie.

Of course, if you are a Norwegian, don't expect to take your car anywhere else in Europe because the ferry lines have banned them from boarding their ships due to the fire hazard...

Well naturally there are more Internally Combustion Engine driven automobiles than EV's in the USA currently.

It'll be that way for years on years, as not many people can even think of buying a new car in this high inflationary period of high interest rates, and while Detroit only started ramping up their engineering to produce them just a few years back.

But they are trending, as their sales are doubling and tripling every year now moving forward.

It's a progression sort of thang!

EV's were invented even before ICE vehicles. But back before the turn of the century before last, batteries were basically huge tanks full of water, and the vehicles they were in were impractical and dangerously top-heavy having to haul around all that weight and water sloshing around in them. EV's of that era were self-defeating and people like Henry Ford had another idea that matched the times.

ExcessLies gives a pathetic rebuttal. When word processors first hit the market, there were millions more typewriters.

EVs are so superior to gas cars, the EV transition will occur faster than anyone expects.

IF IT WASN'T FOR GOVERNMENT MANDATES AND INTERFERENCE IN THE MARKET, EV'S WOULD BE NOTHING BUT A NICHE CURIOSITY IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY.

AND HOW MANY GOVERNMENTS DON'T HAVE MANDATES?
I bet they outnumber countries with mandates 100:1
And Those countries are buying EVs too.

What's the matter, TA ButtHurt? Do you work at a Jiffy Lube and you're afraid you'll get laid off when there's no more ICE cars?

Actually, there are 195 countries on the planet if you include all the tiny "postage stamp" ones. Of those, 40 have agreed to ban all ICE sales by somewhere between 2025 and 2040. That's 16% of all countries, and more like a quarter to a third of all countries that really count. Everyone of those is doing it by government mandate (fiat).

EV's are unpopular and the only way to get people to buy them is through government use of force.

Wrong.
In 1915 37% of automobiles and trucks were electric.
They used Edison batteries which were invented by Thomas Edison.

Edison batteries, also known as iron-nickel batteries and were made at the Edison factory until 1973, when the factory was moved to China as a result of the first neo-con
president opening China to trade, which was sold to the public as expanding our markets.

Edison batteries are unique due to the fact that the batteries never wear out, the electrolyte needs to be replenished (with water).

The Baker Electric in Jay Leno's collection is a perfect example.

It still drives, on the original batteries.

Edison batteries were also used in boats, submarines and for remote uses such as track switches etc.

They are still made to this day in China, Russia, and other countries and can be readily purchased over the internet.

The death of the early use of electrics was the direct result of corruption instigated by Standard Oil Company.

I was talking about the first generation of Electric vehicles.

The first one came as early as 1846.

So, I was not wrong.
