The point of electric cars isn't to save money.
There was always the possibility that driving would be more expensive with electric cars.
It's to help save the environment, although I suspect that it's too late now, anyway.

With manufacturers planning to offer many new EV models this year, 2023 could have even more growth.
New data provided by LMC Automotive and EV-Volumes.com (via Wall Street Journal) shows global EV sales made up 10 percent of every new car sold globally last year, with most of the sales occurring in Europe and China. In these two markets, manufacturers focus heavily on EV sales and are rushing to push competitive models out while optimizing and improving past vehicles.
Last year, 7.8 million electric vehicles were sold. Continuing the adoption of EVs has provided not only new, sustainable powertrains to consumers but also new revenue streams for automakers through subscription-based programs and charging infrastructure.

EVs are a lot cheaper to use. https://www.energy.gov/energysaver/articles/saving-money-electric-vehicles It is simply the truth. The fact is people charge at night when rates are low. DTE sends us charts telling us when the cheapest time to charge is.

EVs cost more to purchase, and that price will only go up as supplies of lithium and cobalt diminish.
They are expensive to repair.
They take a long time to charge, making them impractical for long distance, remote, or all day hauling.
They require about twice as much energy to charge and run than a similar sized gasoline car. They are wasteful of energy.
The cost of infrastructure (power generating capacity, transmission capacity, switching capacity, and charging stations will have to be massively expanded if EVs are mandated.
They are a significant fire hazard, destroying ships, homes, charging stations, and cars parked near them. Simple corrosion or minor road damage is enough to start an EV fire. There is no putting it out. The car will burn and take whatever is near it with it.

Wrong .the car prices are about the same. They have much lower costs in electricity over gas. They have a lot less maintenance. They save many thousands over the lifetime of the vehicle. The infrastructure bill dealt with charging stations. Try and keep up. I also gave you a cite on how oil companies are getting into the charging station business. You really are clueless.

I love how ItN tries to convince us that EVs are less efficient than Gas cars.
Gas cars lose much of their energy in heat from friction. That's why they need a lubrication and cooling system. EVs have neither and don't need to maintain these systems with fluids. Also, with EVs Regenerative Braking, you rarely use the brakes. Thus, less maintenance. Also, no valves, no camshaft, no transmission.
