MTG for VP

If you're suggesting that my party sucks, that's not in dispute....

Yet you keep voting for them. That's the problem.

I stopped voting for the Republican Party when it became crystal clear they were no longer the party of fiscal responsibility and personal accountability by openly embracing racism, fiscal irresponsibility and shredding the Constitution...just like Democrats.

If more Americans voted for a Third Party then that party would replace one or both of the two major parties as has happened several times in our past. Instead, We, the People, have largely become a nation of divided chickenshits who keep supporting the same party they hate.

The Repubs were never the party of fiscal responsibility. They just said it over and over, fooling the rubes. They never governed that way. The Repubs are the party of the wealthy and corporations. That is why they have extremely wealthy people running their party. Trump, Bush, and another Bush are examples. They have never known need or had financial problems.

They've also been responsible for the off-shoring of American jobs, particularly in manufacturing. Yet at the same time they screech "America First!" while promising (but never delivering) to bring those jobs back. That's how they've managed to woe union workers away from (D)s.

1. Destroy or threaten to destroy their jobs.
2. Blame that on the (D)s.
3. Promise to fix it, but never do so because then they'd lose one of their carrots.

At least you didn't claim the Democrats were the party of fiscal responsibility.

Even the Democrat leadership was happy to see the Clintons finally leave town.

Disagreed on the logic of voting for a lying, draft-dodging, adulterous, autocratic pedophile simply because he has a better chance of winning than a third party candidate.

Bill wasn't that bad...

First of all, "third party" by itself means nothing. You have to identify its location on the political spectrum.
Those dissatisfied with the present two parties definitely don't agree on one third party political location.

Then, even if a non-major party candidate won the presidency, he/she would have no support from either side of the still Republican / Democratic Aisle.

Finally, if we had viable alternate parties to suit both libertarian/anarchists like yourself and European- style Social Democrats like me, presidential elections would become worthless.
Every election would be decided in the House, which could be ok but we don't know. The point is, people forget that part of it.

Right now, voting for a non-viable candidate just with the hope of screwing up the real choice one way of another is being both petulant and unpatriotic.
Responsible people don't respect that.

True. #42 wasn't as greedy nor as big of a pedo as #45.

AFAIK, #42 didn't sell out his own country and was only impeached once. The rest, including betraying one's oath of office, is the same as #45.
Fuck them both.

Maybe. You and I both know that continuing to vote for the same parties over and over again expecting different results isn't working.

In fact, things are getting worse. Time for something different.

Clinton sold out his country to the Chinese. Remember Chinagate?

The Reader's Digest version:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_United_States_campaign_finance_controversy

It is probably the most obvious and provable case of a President and his administration selling out America in history. Clinton took millions in cash and campaign contributions in exchange for selling China critical missile guidance and targeting information. He did it by simply declassifying at the stroke of a pen. Sound familiar to anyone else?

I'll give you Trump can be greedy and is a total asshole, but he didn't do anything close to what Clinton did in Chinagate.

Then you have to start a real party from the ground up, not just back a no-shot presidential candidate.
And to do that, there has to be substantial support for it within the electorate.

There isn't sufficient support for MY socialist party, unless we dump the 50-state format which I, of course, advocate, so with a binary choice, I stick to the donkeys over the pachys..
Is there sufficient support for your libertarian/anarchist party? I'll believe it when I see it.

Most people who don't like either major party are content to be non-descript and largely irrelevant independents.
That's my observation. If I'm wrong, time will tell.

If you can understand who was the first Republican President and why, then you'd have a better understanding about Third Party politics.

Still, it's your right as an American, as much as you hate calling yourself that, to keep your head firmly were you want.

All politics are local. Start electing locals first; Dog catcher, Hall Monitor, Block Party coordinator, whatever works. Work up from there.
