Democratic majority Grows!?!

I'd also note that NY-23 went from a moderate Republican to a moderate Democrat and CA-1o went from a moderate Democrat to a progressive Democrats. While the GOP did very well in the gubernatorial elections last night, the House shifted to the left a little bit.

Hahahaha...that is likely NOT the story being discussed by BDD behind the curtains. The very fact that a third party candidate that was relatively unknown 30 days before an election, manages to pull 45% of the vote, is the real story! Add to this spectacular oddity that the candidate was a social conservative in a socoially liberal district and the story becomes even that much more of tell.

What the fuck are you babbling about. Your (and Palin's) guy lost. A safely Republican seat went to the Democrat. The real news is that the purity police of the Republican party will go to the mat to make sure that safely Republican seat will go to the Democrats.

I hope you knuckleheads replicate this everywhere. The Democrats would love to have that Florida Senate seat and the Republican purity police an surely make that happen.

You are an idiot. A safely "conservative" seat? That was NO conservative seat. That was a mamsy pamsy finger in the political wind seat. That seat was hotly contested by an outspoken thrid party unknown that managed to get 45% of the vote! Like it or not dork...THAT is the story.

When the T.E.A. Party became a political party. Hoffman ran under their banner.

Here's the reality.

8 weeks ago, this guy was unknown entirely, a CPA with the personality to match, the republicans spent over $1M to defeat him and their candidate ended up dropping out and endorsing the D candidate who also spent money hand over fist to defeat this unknown accountant. He had no business getting within three points of a Congressional seat considering all that was against him.

1. Third party candidate.
2. Entered the race late.
3. Unknown and not a politician.
4. Not very "exciting" in personality (and that is being kind).
5. Running against two major parties who actually banded together to defeat him in the end...

Who said it was a "conservative" seat? Certainly not me. The basic facts are that the seat hadn't been won by a Democrat since Reconstruction, the Republican nominee was attacked by the purity police and a Democrat won the seat.

If you want to replicate that "success" go right ahead. I'd appreciate it.

No, there was no Republican. The real story is the Republican was drummed out of the race by the Tea Party whackos.

Id like to see them replicate that "success" over and over again. They are set up to relicate that "success" here in the Florida senatoral election. Charlie Christ, the wildly popular governor v. the puratanitical Marco Rubio.

That's right there was no Republican. There was nothing Republican about that lady the NY GOP put on the ticket. The fact that the Democrat who won the race called her out for supporting so many tax increases and increased spending while she was in the NY state governments tells you all you need to know. So I guess you can add the Democrat who won to your "Tea Party whackos" list which kind of takes away from the point you tried to make earlier this morning about the Democrats actually gaining.

as we see and were right about, the supposed Republican Scuzzy (whatever her name was) turned out to be a traitor as a Republican and shit on Republicans when she found out she couldn't win... so she would fit right in with the Democrat party..you all can have here..

Not a Republican, huh? Somebody should have told Newt Gingrich, the RNC and the NRCC.

ANXIETY '09
Voters Who Said They Were Worried About The Direction Of The Nation’s Economy: Virginia 85% ... New Jersey: 89%

GOP Wins VA, NJ Governor's Races... ABC's George Stephanopoulos: On The Economy, Voters Let Out A Primal Scream... Markos Moulitsas: The Democratic Base Collapsed -- .

this was the headline on Huffington post the liberal express.

Which to me just remphasizes (sp) my belief that there is not a bigger group of prostitutes around than the RNC or NRCC. They are like Desh in a sense they care only about the letter R (or D in Desh's case).

I'm not in the camp of one must be socially conservative or you aren't a true Republican. However when your Democratic opponent attacks you fiscally from the right something is wrong.

The RNC and RNCC have no principles or stand for anything other winning regardless of what that means. So I gladly give the RNC the middle finger.

Again, I'm not a believer that because one is a R or D one must support all positions the party supports. But this lady seemed to support almost none so yeah I have no problem saying she is not a Republican.

Drumming out RINO's is a good thing. Unlike dems who vote party so long as a D follows their name, the in name only, is in truth ,just another way of saying Benedict Arnold and R's are getting that message from the voters. This third party candidate in a liberal district getting 45% of the vote really is the story for R's.

Great analysis! Imagine the message this sends to the good ol' boys and girls club?

Dems, incumbents get wake-up call

RICHMOND, Va. — Eager to drain the 2009 elections of drama and import, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs claimed Tuesday night that President Barack Obama was “not watching returns.”

You can be sure that he is studying them closely now: The off-year elections were, in two big races, an unmistakable rebuke of Democrats, reshuffling Obama’s political circumstances in ways likely to have severe near-term consequences for his policy agenda and larger governing strategy.

Independents took flight from Democrats. They suffered humiliating gubernatorial losses in traditionally Democratic New Jersey, where Obama lent his prestige in a pair of eleventh-hour campaign rallies Sunday, and in Virginia, which had been trending leftward and just last year was held up as an example of how Obama was redrawing the political map in his favor.

Yes, the nail-biting behind the curtains at the WH is just too obvious. I hear that Reed came out and said no vote on HC 'til after the first of the year...This really does translate into the "power is still with the people"!
