Drugs are certainly a bane on society, but the drug war is not only unconstitutional, it's a total failure.
Regulating which drugs are illegal only creates funding for organized crime. Remember how banning alcohol failed? It just created organized crime problems and the amendment authorizing the ban (that's what it takes to institute such bans!) had to be repealed.
If people want to fuck themselves up on this stuff, there is no stopping it. A far better solution is education on what this stuff does to you.

Guns are not the problem.
There are currently more guns in the States than people. Yet only a few shoot up a school or a party.
Ok, so if people are the problem, not guns, then why do you want to let the problem have guns?

When you are released from prison you must go to a halfway house. One of the first things that you are required to do is find a job and also to get a driver’s license if it has expired.

You say you need a gun to keep yourself safe and offer protection, but bringing a gun into your home instantly creates odds that you will use your gun against someone or yourself, and that a criminal can break into your house and steal your gun, to be used in other crimes.
So the dissonance is you thinking the gun makes you safe, when the reality is that it makes you LESS SAFE.
But you don't believe this.
You're just saying it for effect, but you don't actually think this is true.
OK so where in there does the felon rent the truck?
So they have to leave prison, go to a halfway house, then get a license, and then they rent a truck to drive into people after all that?
