I can only tell you what my experience is.

But even at 218miles (that's often below what I usually average on a charge, even in cold weather) I'm not complaining. Why would I? Do you drive over 218 miles in a day? Are you a truck driver? Either way, I don't. I put about 8k on my car each year, probably actually a bit less, so I honestly don't know why you would think I need to be able to tow giant fifth wheels or drive across country in one go, etc.

This car is a very good car for what I need it for. I don't pay for fuel, I pay almost nothing in maintenance (no oil to change) so I honestly don't know why this bothers you so much.

No one expects EV's to be as well developed as the over 100 years of development of ICE vehicles, and no one expects a car to do the exact same things as every single other type of vehicle on the road.

I know you hate, hate, hate EV's, but gimme a break. I'm already paying for your gasoline in the subsidies the government gives to oil companies. So why don't you let me pay full price for my EV and fuel it for free on my solar? Why does that bother you SO MUCH?

I honestly don't understand why you think an EV has to do LITERALLY EVERYTHING A HUGE TRUCK CAN DO. Do you mock people who buy a small sedan just because they might struggle to pull a 15,000lb 5th wheeler in Prudhoe bay? NO, of course not. Not all vehicles were made to do the same thing.

The cold weather alone would reduce the range and increase charging time. I can agree with that. But then in the last, ummm.....30 years or so I have had little need for either a cross-country vehicle or a remote area vehicle. I wouldn't recommend an EV for anyone like that. For the remote area vehicle I wouldn't even recommend most regular cars...I'd suggest AWD or 4WD.
