It's not percentages that mean anything, but actual dollars, and in that regard, it was the worst performance in history. Much of that due to tax cuts which were supposed to pay for themselves, but we knew better.

The main reason Obama is now consistently being ranked within the top 14 presidents is because he saved the nation from a Second Great Republican Depression.
We ended the longest run of growth in February of 2020, so right before Covid. There was going to be a recession, with or without Covid, the question is how bad of a recession.
Throughout 2019, there were red lights flashing due to extreme mismanagement by trump. The repo market collapse in September of 2019 stands out to me. Almost all the corporations in America ran out of cash-on-hand at the same time. Nothing even remotely similar to that has ever happened.
It can be argued that WWII saved the world from the Great Depression, and it can be argued that Covid saved the world from trump's economic mismanagement.
Besides, trump claims he is clairvoyant, so why didn't he stop Covid before it appeared?
