Are we ever going to take effective action to keep these weapons out of the hands of mentally insane people.
 
Either people stop making them or people stop buying them .

The drivers are capitalism and fear.

I'd say it is the rights of others that is important, the "unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" and not having to worry or concerned with getting gunned down by a semi automatic weapon in just going to the shopping center, school, spa, church, grocery story, concert, mall, senior center, parking lot, nightclub, etc

The same way we don’t allow them to have nukes, for example.

The same way it’s against the law to share classified information even though we have freedom of speech.

Comparing small arms to nukes is silly. It's why nothing is being done; Democrats want to ban guns and Republicans don't want them to do so. Nobody gives a shit about the mentally ill or the 45,000 suicides in America every year...well, except for the half that use firearms. The Democrats love to use those numbers to puff up their "gun violence" stats.

You need to understand the context…. He believes all Americans have an absolute right to any “arms” including nuclear ones. He believes the rights are absolute, even for mass murderers.

Democrats don't want to ban guns, regulating guns isn't banning guns, no one is coming to your house to take away your weapons

And the numbers aren't puffed up, close to twenty thousand Americans are murdered as a result of gun violence, forty percent of all gun violence, there is no need to puff up those statistics, they speak for themselves

How about limiting access to guns from those exhibiting mental health difficulties, but the problem still exists, no one knows who the next shooter will be, and there is no list of who is mental ill and who is not, the weapon that makes it all possible is the only variable that can be controled

Are you agreeing that those who screamed "over 30,000 gun violence deaths" in past years were puffing up the numbers with gun suicides?

I'm good with it. Nikolas Cruz was known to be nuts and nothing was done. Jared Loughner was known to be nuts, but nothing was done. Why? Defunding the police? Defunding mental healthcare facilities? Why aren't these nutjobs getting the help they need?

Just taking guns from them won't stop violence since they can still drive cars, make firebombs, etc. California has among the toughest gun laws in the nation. Why did this guy have a gun? Even if the gun was taken, he knew the place. What's to prevent him from chaining or blocking the exits and then lighting the place up with firebombs?

The problem is a lack of mental health care and all I see Democrats advising is gun bans.
