Florida has blocked the College Board from testing a pilot Advanced Placement African American Studies (APAAS) curriculum in the state under Governor Ron DeSantis’ “Stop WOKE” Act. According to a letter obtained by National Review, Florida’s Department of Education’s Office of Articulation said the curriculum “is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.”

Under the guise of his anti-CRT crusade, the governor is reshaping Florida education in the image of the far right, recently announcing a plan to forcibly overhaul the New College of Florida, and transform it into a conservative institution. With increasing pressure on teachers and professors to avoid topics like race and gender lest they face the wrath of the state government, that transformation is effectively taking place though government-enforced censorship.

No AP African American Studies course in Florida schools, says DeSantis administration

The AP program, which gives high school students an opportunity to take college-level courses before graduation, covers 38 subjects, including English literature and composition, U.S. government and politics, statistics and art history.

The AP African American Studies course is the College Board's first new offering since 2014, according to TIME, and will cover more than 400 years of African American history. It had been in the works for over a decade before its initial pilot, and the curriculum will span several topics, including literature, political science and geography.

Ronnie knows Trump is surpassing him, latest polls show he is fading, so he has to do something to get media attention, and pimping an issue close to the base’s heart is always a winner with them

Only the optics matter, but you’d have to ask who does DeSantis think is going to sign up for this course, the white kid worried about getting his feelings hurt, or the black kid interested in knowing his history

:thing1:

Seethe, cry and whine like a pussy, ........then cope. ;)

So you're saying that we need to learn to accept the virulent racists that the GOP is amassing as their primary base? You are probably right. We are going to have to relive the 1930's I guess.

Ugh.

Now if only you methheads knew what that meant.

If maggots like Stone were dealt with, that would at least be a start.

We put up with anything, and then pay the price for it.

All tolerance isn't good.

That's because it does. What advanced placement in college is it preparing them for? Lesbian Basketweaving? A career as a professional victim?

Learning the 400 year of Black history in America is not CRT , and others who are no Black take the course

What about Asian American history?

We will tolerate no actions the racists want to do except them crawling down into the sewer where they belong

We don’t have to let them break laws
