The courts can't repeal the Constitution. Legislatures can't repeal the Constitution. The Constitution is the SUPREME LAW of the land. When the courts rule on a legislative passed law that conflicts with the Constitution, they are not repealing the supreme law of the land, they are enforcing it.

The fact remains that the legislature can't pass laws that violate the Constitution and the courts have been given the power to say the Supreme law of the land gives them the power to declare any law violating the Constitution to be null and void.
