It's time for the parties to work together again

People in Congress & the executive branch have a job to do, and it's a pretty important job. If it was advertised in the classifieds, it would say something like: "REQUIRED: ability to work with with others, and compromise to find solutions that benefit the greater good."

It's been done. Republicans and Democrats worked together during the Reagan years; they worked together during the Clinton years. Reagan worked w/ O'Neil; Clinton worked with Gingrich.

That stopped in the early 2000's, and both parties are to blame for that. We've had party leaders actually state that they think their job is to obstruct agendas. We've seen whole strategies around just impeding progress toward solutions, just to win the next election. People were outraged when Liz Cheney gave Biden an innocuous fist bump. The only acceptable POV now is to see the other party as the enemy.

And we see the results. We're not addressing our problems - so, over the last 2 decades, they've all gotten worse. Down the line - just about every major issue confronting America domestically and abroad has gotten worse.

It's not acceptable or sustainable. Congress has to grow up.
 
They decided to make the word compromise into a dirty word

Bring back the cocktail parties! They fight on the floor, then make deals at these mixers!
 
Back during the Reagan and most all of the Clinton years, we pretty much all got our news off of the same channels- The Nightly Evening Nationally Broadcasted News programs.

Then in 1996, FOX NEWS created an opinionated News program and created their own reality that has an overall narrative theme to it-- since day one- HATE DEMOCRATS AND CREATE DIVIDE IN OUR COUNTRY! It's not much different than the HATE AM radio that Rush Limbaugh created back in the late 80's that only escalated and became even more popular up until his death, and the hate Radio still blankets the AM stations across America blasting it's hateful and harmful message 24 hours a day x 7 days a week. SO now, it's Hate Radio and Hate TV 24 hours a day every day now!

And then there are the Right Wing tabloids, Right Wing Extremely Biased Websites, Conspiracy Theory websites, Facebook, Twitter, and what have you?

I don't think there is any way else to explain where the cold political war started blazing out of control like a prairie fire!

When there are two separate REALITIES in the world, that totally conflict, it can only lead to civil discourse and chaos!

I specifically said both parties.

If you want examples of Republicans doing exactly what you just implied that only Democrats do, I've got some.
