Lauren Boebert's Attack on Trump Shocks Congress

I'm enjoying the GOP house disfunction?!!:corn: I hope the public watching this clown show too and remember it when it comes to the 2024 elections too?!!

I don't think any worth while legislation will be passed under GOP leadership in the house either?!!

I think the headline is misleading. She didn't attack the Toadstool, she stuck up for him.

While delivering a speech where she nominated Representative Byron Donalds as House speaker, Boebert said, "Let's stop with the campaign smears and tactics to get people to turn against us, even having my favorite president [Donald Trump] call us and tell us we need to knock this off."

"I think it actually needs to be reversed, the president needs to tell [Representative] Kevin McCarthy that 'sir, you do not have the votes and it's time to withdraw,'" Boebert added, prompting an array of shocked yells from others in the House.

Honestly, however, this has to be a signal to the GOP that the Maga wing is of sufficient size that it can throw a spanner in the works when it wants to. But even that isn't necessarily clear. The main body of the GOP seems to have slid pretty far to the right so it's kind of weird that there seems to be a hard break between them.

Oh well, either way it is interesting that our politics are no longer being done for the purpose of running the country (should actually be kind of a boring job if you think about it) into the non-stop shit-show that has been creeping into our capital for many, many years now (decades), but it has now entered the "Maury Povich Phase" where the congresspeople act like screaching clowns for views.

We had a good run, though. We somehow became a superpower and then, apparently, a lifetime of eating lead paint came home to roost and we became the most stupid shithole country imaginable.

Agreed. The narrow majority is their major problem...a problem also shared by the Democrats. Sure, the Democrats will probably win the House back in 2024 as the Republicans continue to fuck themselves, but will they lose the WH in the process?

When neither party has a large majority of elected offices, it means that neither party has the majority trust of the voting public.
