As His Life of Fantasy Comes Into Focus, George Santos Goes to Washington

I'm not. It's YOU that is minimizing the faults of people you support politically. I'm in the They all deserve to hang corner. Biden and Warren (among other Democrats) are every bit as bad as Santos. Let 'em all swing. You only want the ones you disagree with politically to swing.

And, no, I'm not a Trump supporter. I vote against the Progressive Left (eg., Democrats today) because the Progressive Left is the greatest evil on the planet and history proves it.

You can keep repeating yourself, but I've already demonstrated that you're incorrect. So to continue to repeat falsehoods makes you a liar. You're also projecting.

If Trump runs in your state's primary, are you going to vote for him? It's actually the anti-globalist, anti-science, anti-education, anti-Enlightenment, racist alt right that is the greatest evil on the planet, but we don't need to get into that.

In a rather unusual campaign move, Sen. Elizabeth Warren has released the results of a DNA test that says there is "strong evidence" of Native American ancestry dating back six to 10 generations, addressing a controversy that has followed her for years.”
https://www.npr.org/2018/10/15/6574...hallenges-trump-over-native-american-ancestry

I believe that Warren believed she has some Native American ancestry based on family lore. It seems it was not enough to declare on applications, so she should have been more careful before checking that box, especially if she had political aspirations.

The Cherokee Nation thing is separate. Warren, to my understanding, never claimed to be a member of the Cherokee Nation. She just said she had Native American blood.

Whether she was a fraud or just sloppy, she certainly didn't fabricate nearly every aspect of her life, as Santos appears to have done. He seems to be a stone cold con artist, compulsive liar, and serial con man. Who now represents the Republicans of NY-3.

Santos has said that he grew up in a basement apartment in Jackson Heights, in the Queens borough of New York City. Until Wednesday, Santos’ campaign biography said that his mother, Fatima Devolder, worked her way up to become “the first female executive at a major financial institution.” He has also said that she was in the south tower of the World Trade Center during the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and that she died “a few years later.”

In fact, Devolder died in 2016, and a Brazilian community newspaper at the time described her as a cook. Santos’ friends and former roommates recalled her as a hardworking, friendly woman who spoke only Portuguese and made her living cleaning homes and selling food. None of those interviewed by the Times could recall any instance of her working in finance, and several chalked the story up to Santos’ tendency for mythmaking.

His apparent fabrications about his own life begin with his claims about his high school. He said he attended Horace Mann School, a prestigious private institution in the Bronx borough of New York City, and said he dropped out in 2006 before graduating and earning an equivalency diploma. A spokesperson for Horace Mann said that the school had no record of his attending at all.

By 2008, court records show, Santos and his mother were living in Brazil, just outside Rio de Janeiro in the city of Niterói. Just a month before his 20th birthday, Santos entered a small clothing store and spent nearly $700 in 2008 using a stolen checkbook and a false name, court records show.

Santos has denied that he committed crimes in the United States or abroad. But the Brazilian record shows that he admitted the fraud to both the police and the shopkeeper.

One who was close to Santos was Pedro Vilarva. Vilarva met Santos in 2014, when he was 18 and Santos was 26. Vilarva found him charming and sweet. They dated for a few months before Santos suggested they move in together. Vilarva said he felt on top of the world — even if he said he did find himself footing many of the bills.

“He used to say he would get money from Citigroup, he was an investor,” Vilarva recalled. “One day it’s one thing, one day it’s another thing. He never ever actually went to work,” he said.

Things began to unravel between the two men in early 2015, Vilarva said, after Santos surprised him with tickets to Hawaii that turned out not to exist. Around the same time, he said he discovered that his cellphone was missing, and believed Santos had pawned it.

Why do you hate gay men?

He'll be in good company with the likes of Biden and Warren, both of whom are serial liars about their past and used those lies to their advantage... Doesn't excuse Santos, but it does point out the selective outrage of the Left and Democrats about such things...

That is total BS. There is nobody with a completely manufactured and self-created life history like that. You of course simply ignored the tread and did a Trumpian deflection.

I have found no evidence she benefited from the claim, could you supply it. I see one example of her checking the box in the 80’s on her bar exam card. Thanks

See! This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Apisa has no problem attacking those that hold differing political views to his own, but when a politician he likes and has views similar to his own does it, it is excused behavior.

Fuck them all. Biden is as a big a liar, if not bigger, than Trump or Santos and they all deserve a thorough an hard smackdown for it.

Do continue to indulge your lunacy. You are one of my favorite posters...when I need a good laugh.

Biden has lied about everything and anything, as but one prominent example. What's your point? I find both of them, and others like them, detestable. You seem to excuse those that have similar political views to your own while attacking those that don't.

List these supposed Biden lies, and for everyone you can think of or just make up out of thin air, there will be 10-20 of trump lies.

I've never looked for any such evidence nor have I seen it. A one-second search, though, just yielded this as my first hit: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blog...0b7f568-08a5-11e2-a10c-fa5a255a9258_blog.html She appears to have claimed Native American ancestry on her Penn and Harvard applications and in professional directories for recruiters.

I'm simply saying she shouldn't have checked the Native American box on any paperwork without knowing it to be a fact. Supplying false information on most applications is grounds to void the application. Sometimes penalties are even more severe than that. Either way, once again, I don't think there's an honest comparison between Warren and Santos. It's just more right wing deflection and minimization.

Thanks, this article states it was her merits and not her claims.

Is that worse than Warren lying her ass off about being a Native American to get into law school, get jobs, etc.?

For all you know, Elizabeth Warren checked a box incorrectly. She should not have done it. Santos, though, fabricated his entire life story.

So, YES, it is MUCH, MUCH worse.

Is it worse that Biden lying about his entire past?

Joe Biden has not lied about his entire past. In fact, MOST of his past has been lived in the public eye. Yeah, he has lied on occasions. Most politicians and other human being have. But Santos fabricated his entire life story.

So...once again...YES...it is much, much worse.

Hey...thanks for asking, TA. You are okay in my book.

This just in as well. Apparently, Santos has an ex-boyfriend who doesn't think highly of poor Santos:

"Despite lying about much of his personal and work history, out gay Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) will be sworn into Congress on Tuesday. Nevertheless, his old friends have told the media about his other likely lies, and a gay Congressman has introduced legislation that would prevent other politicians like Santos from fabricating their own backstories."

LOL, Biden and Warren "serial liars". I think you're talking about Warren's claim of Native American roots. That's ONE lie, MAYBE! How many are we up to with Santos? Like 1000?

Your whataboutism failed again, TA.

You are deluded. He will fit right in with all the Republicans...and with their supporters on the Internet...

...BAT SHIT CRAZY!

I know. Biden and Warren might have embellished some things in their past, but there can be no comparison to the fiction Santos has spewed.

And I’ll say it again, what politician on either side has 30,000 + lies in five years? Trump is the absolute hands down winner!

At least Santos doesn't think he's an Indian princess, or a truck driver, or any of dozens of other long-time delusions Warren and Biden have had... among other Democrats...

So you think "Indian Princess" is worse than claiming a total fictional resume, background religion, education, everything?

LOL :) Keep fighting the good fight, TA :)

Biden is not even in the same ballpark as Trump. Your love is blind.

Hey, remember when twump said he had people in Hawaii researching Obama's birth certificate and "we won't believe what they've found".

What did they find?

Hey, remember when twump lies about election fraud and got his Nazi's to attack us?

You really think Biden's worse :)

List these supposed Biden lies, and for everyone you can think of or just make up out of thin air, there will be 10-20 of trump lies.

Or Santos lies, where "the hits keep coming".

Biggest mystery: Where did Santos come up with the $700k he lent his campaign?
