It really did, but the numbers still don't make sense. Since jobs have recovered, why all these labor shortages? Where are all the workers? I don't believe that they're all at home collecting welfare.

Its terrible. I worry about the long term ramifications for my area. How living a certain way for an extended period can change an area forever. Example.....one of my best friends made a pretty good life for himself in rural Wisconsin as a very small contractor. Million dollar home, all the toys, ect ect. He recently moved south. TOTAL DISASTER. I tried to warn him but oh well..... He said its like going back in time down there. Shitty out dated equipment,....the tradesmen suck and dont know shit, low quality work and move like a herd of turtles if they move at all, and no money whatsoever. The contractors down there are working for what our contractors made 20 years ago. My buddy is coming back...LOL

I don't understand either but when the pandemic started, workers have been applying for unemployment benefits. I started to notice it in restaurants, for example.
I don't know much about the unemployment benefits and how long they last.

I do a lot of work in the SW. AZ and NM are probably beyond saving at this point. There is no work ethic remaining there.
 
You guys probably wont know what this means but,,,MAYBE....In the state my buddy went to in the deep south they dont even have front discharge concrete trucks yet! In fact,......they NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THEM! :whoa: No,....I dont EVER want that kind of backwards ass way of thinking EVER permeating my area. Thats the kind of thing that can happen from sloth and lazyness,....you can regress and retard as a culture.

He kind of wanted to semi retire there because of the nice weather. Its not taking him long and hes kinda like...FUCK THE WEATHER Im coming back! LOL. Problem he has now is selling the big house and acreage he bought down there and not taking a loss.

What benefits? States pay unemployment, not the feds. And I doubt any state offers unemployment for 3 years.

NM is drugs, mental disease, and homelessness. It's a Breaking Bad zombie apocalypse now. It didn't even really become bad until this year. Now most of the state is a hellhole.

I have always called the other state Lazy AZ because those people are just lazy. Even before the pandemic trades wouldn't return calls or emails. They showed up to jobs late, blew their schedules (if they even bothered to create one), and generally sucked at communicating. Roofers and HVAC techs would show up at properties without ladders. Post-pandemic, there's such a backlog of work that they know that we have no choice but to accept it. I hope things improve, but it won't be anytime soon.
