Congress released trump's returns and even released the corporate tax returns for companies trump managed!!! Let's have the same transparency for federal congressmen and judges.

dec 30 2022 The top tax-writing committee in Congress released former President Donald Trump’s tax returns to the general public Friday morning, ending a yearslong battle and shedding light on a complicated labyrinth of businesses and holdings typical of billionaires but rarely seen in detail by the public.

The release included six years of tax returns for the time he was president and campaigned for the presidency, from 2015 to 2020. Thousands of pages across dozens of files included personal returns filed by him and his wife, Melania, and business returns for a handful of entities, including DJT Holdings and DJT Managing Member LLC.

The returns span nearly 6,000 pages, including more than 2,700 pages of individual returns from Trump and his wife and more than 3,000 pages in returns for Trump’s business entities.

Same reason it was illegal for congress to release Trump's return. Its against the law to release without permission of the taxpayer.

With this precedent its now OK for congress to publish yours and my tax returns.

I'm waiting for charges to be filed but, of course, we have no government anymore for forget that.
 
The presidential candidates have been releasing their taxes for about half a century, The reason is to determine if they have investments in other countries that may sway them to make decisions based on their finances and not what is best for America. There has never been a candidate who had more red flags in finances than Trump. Trump said repeatedly that he would show his taxes if they were not under audit. he lied about that.
Trump has been involved in tax releases with other presidential candidates and lied about his. He thought everyone else should open He pressured Romney to show his taxes when he was running.
Ways and Means just kept Trump's promises for him.
Hillary released about 30 years of taxes. That should have totally silenced rightys who bitched about her finance. Biden released his. There was just one guy missing. And now there are none.

No they did not release their tax returns. Just the small part they wanted to release.
 
How do we know these really are trump's returns? IRS is totally democrat and no doubt altered them. Democrats don't believe in rule of law as proven by their support of 50 million illegal aliens living here with democrat blessing.

President Trump was required to file a financial disclosure report when he was running for president, Walter.

Why were his tax forms released if he filed a more detailed and quicker financial disclosure?

No, he was not. By custom, he would have released his taxes, but he chose to ignore custom. Congress has never felt comfortable forcing Presidents to disclose financial information.

The whole reason that Presidential candidates release 10 years of tax returns is that they do not make financial disclosures. trump neither made financial disclosures, nor released tax returns. Clinton and Biden did both. Because the Clintons jointly filed, we had tax returns going back to 1976 for them.
