As he should. Congress in getting his tax returns legally only has some legislative purpose in doing so. Releasing them virtually immediately after gaining possession is a purely political move that is illegal. Whether you love or hate Trump, you should be appalled that Democrats (or Republicans doing the same thing) did this and are likely to get away with it.

All could have been ended back in 2015 if Donald did what generations of candidates did before him, release your income taxes for public review

But when you aren’t paying income tax, and call yourself a self made billionaire and you have incurred mountains of debt, understandable why he didn’t, his “chickens have come home to roost,” got no one to blame but himself

Why would anyone release a candidate’s taxes when those taxes are already out there for public review? It is Trump who set the new precedent, and now it is coming back to haunt him, as the saying goes, honesty is the best policy

In my view, a political candidate's personal tax return is their business, not the public's. I'd rather see their college transcript than their taxes.

What exactly is illegal about the release of trumps tax returns. Do be specific!

26 U.S. Code § 7213 - Unauthorized disclosure of information

Congress only has the right to subpoena stuff for a valid "legislative purpose." They can't go on fishing expeditions against individuals and sure as hell can't pull someone's personal tax returns and then release them publicly like they did in Trump's case. That law above makes it damn clear they can't.

Again, hate Trump or love him, it illegal to release his personal tax returns without his permission. The law makes that absolutely clear, and Congress is not above the law.

Now that a House committee has obtained access to six years of former President Trump’s tax returns, congressional Democrats face an easy question and a harder one.

The easy question is whether, as a matter of law, the House Ways and Means Committee—which gained access to the former president’s tax filings after the Supreme Court dismissed Trump’s last-ditch bid to block the Internal Revenue Service from handing over the documents—can make Trump’s returns public before Republicans take control of the chamber on Jan. 3. The answer to that question is straightforwardly yes.

What makes it illegal?

So now does any Congressional investigating Committee pursue anything? What legislative purpose does the upcoming House have in going after Hunter Biden, especially since they aren’t even in office yet? Does that mean Jimmy Jordan is full of it when he pretentiously swears America has a right to know?

Besides, Trump’s own SCOTUS didn’t see it that way

Remember his “experience” that qualified him for the job was having been a wildly successful businessman. ROTFLMAO!

Nowhere does that say it is illegal for congress to release those taxes.

So you agree with Trump over the entire system that said it’s perfectly legal?

Because just like trump you want the constitution terminated
