They are not here illegally, they have requested asylum and are legally allowed to stay until they get a hearing.

I am not against them being sent to other cities and states, just not during a blizzard emergency. They should not be sent without letting authorities know they are coming.

They should be dropped off at facilities, prepared to receive them. They should not be dropped off at very difficult spot for the sake of political points.

We should try it on the up and up, rather than secretly and have a bi-partisan congressional panel monitor the progress. Migrants are going to keep coming unless we help stabilize their countries of origin.

No, that's wrong. Most of those vegetables came from the Sinaloa region in Mexico as they aren't grown in the Southwest US this time of year.

Wrong. I want what works. I purchased several significant items as Christmas gifts. These included items from IKEA (Sweden), Korea, and Japan (electronics). The stuff from China was minor stocking stuffers. China generally produces low quality crap I don't want.

One of the GC's (General Contractors) I do a lot of stuff for hires illegals. He just let several go for doing things like buying stuff on his credit they didn't need to do their job, lying about travel miles, stealing from customers, and other stuff that generally gets you fired. You know nothing about working with illegals. I have to regularly because other contractors hire them. They work fast but take every shortcut they think they can get away with.

For example, I did a small triplex rewire and had to cut open walls and ceilings. The illegals doing the drywall repairs (I was told not to do them) used cardboard and duct tape covered with drywall mud to "fix" the cuts. I discovered that and tore it all out reporting it to the GC. That's what you get when you let incompetent, illiterate, stupid, criminals do such work. They don't care because they know they can always flee the country and avoid consequences.

If you let the authorities know they are coming then the authorities will say they cant take them. This is a perfect case in point actually. The charities that took in these "asylum seekers" knew perfectly well that there were thousands of them sleeping in the streets in El Paso. Did they proactively offer to take a single one?

No. The only time they took in any was when Abbot forced their hand and dropped them of in DC.

Look this family went from having nowhere to sleep to having a charity look after them and im pretty sure any kids they brought would have even gotten some sort of christmas gift from the charity. They are probably being treated 100x better than the homeless sleeping in the streets of DC and none of that would have been possible without Abbot dropping them off there.

The problem isn't always the nation these people are coming from other than possibly economic privation. Many have crime and murder rates that are lower than some parts of the US. Others are simply too bureaucratic and structured to get ahead in. Most have no valid claim to asylum and should have made that claim in a US embassy near their home nation, not on the US border. The reason they are doing that now is because Biden is letting them stay until their claim is resolved. That could take up to a decade.

If they were turned away and told to file in a US embassy in a third nation, and any that are coming from states / nations that clearly are not repressive, violent shitholes, should be turned away as economic privation is no reason to let them in for asylum or for eventual immigration purposes.

You don't like where you're from? Go back and fix it. Don't come here and break our country.

This is actually why any form of immigration law other than the most nationalistic brutal right wing version will not help. The moment one exemption is made the hole gets poked open so wide that its effectively open borders.

This is a good example. We wont take economic migrants but we will take asylum seekers. The result? Everyone is now an asylum seeker. I doubt you could get a liberal to agree that any country that has a black or brown leader is a safe country as that would mean migrants can head there instead of the US.

Another example is the mediterrainan and the Libyan migration crisis. At first Europe showed mercy and rescued those flimsy boats as part of the law of the sea. As a result human smugglers saved money by just dragging the rubber rafts out to international waters just outside of libya (around 15 nautical miles IIRC) and letting the NGOs "rescue" them and taxi them the rest of the 100 or so nautical miles to Italy or Malta.

This is why we cant have nice things and must resort to the most restrictive conditions.
