Trump's True Plan on Jan. 6

As the President stepped to the microphone before his hundreds of supporters he knew the Capitol was closed to visitors. He would have known the doors were locked that morning with Capitol police guarding the building. And he knew the crowd was ready for action. They had come for nothing less after days or weeks of online agitation. Prepping them one last time had been the mission of earlier speakers. And now it was time to send them off.

To do what??

One answer for which a large crowd would be needed comes to mind. They would form a ring around the building, hold hands, and sing, “We Shall Overcome”.

When Trump told the crowd that they need to fight like hell, it was clear what he meant, and then Rudy Giuliani, and John Eastman were both there to put verbal fuel on the fire, and this set the Jan 6 violent riot in motion.

Raises an interesting question, what would have been Trump’s plans if the coup worked, if at least the events of the day actually stopped the transfer of power?

Obviously there would have been huge backlash from everyone even the GOP other than the Jim Jordans and Matt Gaetzs, would Trump then, as suggested by his lemmings, declared Martial Law, and dismissed Congress?

What was his end plan?

He had no end plan, he never does. He's an ad hoc flame thrower. He had no end plan in August, 2020, more than two months before the election, when he made a speech claiming Biden couldn't win except by fraud even though Biden led in the polls, a lead Biden never lost. Trump was unfazed. Plowed right ahead with The Stolen Election and the lemmings, as you say, fell in line. The transfer of power most probably would have happened no matter what Congress did or didn't do on Jan. 6. Whatever the case, there would be Trump playing it by ear.

He might not have had an end plan, but his goal was to maintain power, and I’m sure those he listened to did, as Flynn and Bannon with the Martial Law script

I could see him declaring Martial Law, saying a full “investigation” was needed by Congress before the vote, transfer of power, could be taken, and then his fake State electors scheme could kick into action.
