"Musk polled Twitter users Sunday night on whether he should step down as head of the social media platform.

The poll ended Monday morning, with 57.5% of voters saying he should step down and 42.5% saying he shouldn't."

So: Will he or won't he? Earl started one of his cowardly threads banning everyone with this same topic.

I think he will. I think the reason he put up the poll is because he's bleeding money and needs an excuse to step down. He's decided that in spite of having all the fun he's been having attention-whoring his Tesla business is suffering and he's losing worldwide popularity.

He's an egomaniac so he can't take the heat.

His wealth seems to be less than we were told. He is learning that even wealthy people have limits. He was nuts to buy Twitter. He way overpaid and it is not his line of expertise. His ego has bit himself in the ass. His other businesses are suffering from that fiasco.

Twitter is no longer under the aegis of the FBI/feds and that's a good thing. Now it's a real private company.

I hope he stays.

It never was. Musk is as daft as Trump.
Do you have any idea how huge an organization the FBI would require to run Twitter? That is silly. A private company run by one person is not how you achieve an open and fair platform. That was never Musk's aim.

I think that the Twitter users on the Left politically will flee for friendlier shores where they don't have to put up with opinions they disagree with or don't like. That seems to be the major beef with many current Twitter users...

Why Twitter May Be Ruinous for the Left

The gist of this article is that for journalists and others of similar ilk, Twitter--pre Musk--was an insular platform they could share like-minded ideas on knowing that those running the platform would kick anyone offending them off it. It warns of the issue of being insular versus open.

Left-leaning users leave Twitter in protest at Musk takeover
Progressive figures shed thousands of followers while accounts of more rightwing voices gain popularity

Are the Libs Really Leaving?
Twitter would have to become functionally worse, and something else would have to be obviously better.

This article argues that Leftists really aren't leaving Twitter any more than they fled the US when Trump became president. Instead, they are just angry and upset that their sterile world free of dissent has come to an end and can't cope with having to deal with opinions they don't like.

Once the Democrats choose to leave Twitter, you have left another Truth Social. How has that worked out?

IDK but I like the Twitter Votes under Musk....it is a nice reminder of what democracy is.....and that we could have that in America again if we wanted to have it again.

I would have preferred an option that did not include Tesla.
Just 'Will he step down'.

But, I assume he will.
His word will be nothing if he does not.

I would be shocked if he did. he is entitled like Trump. He can say one thing and do another, then blame you for not seeing his secret plan.
