Ex-Speaker John Boehner cries at unveiling of Nancy Pelosi’s official portrait
Former House Speaker John Boehner, famed for his tan, love of wine, and ability to cry almost spontaneously, showed some things never change Wednesday when he had to choke back sobs during the unveiling of outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s official portrait at the US Capitol.

Boehner, a Republican from Ohio who resigned from the House in 2015, turned emotional as he spoke about the California Democrat in Statuary Hall.

“You’ve been unfailingly gracious to me, to my family, and, frankly, my team here in Washington,” said Boehner, 73. “And Madam Speaker, I have to say, my girls told me, ‘Tell the Speaker how much we admire her.'”

At that, Boehner’s lips began to quiver and he began sobbing.

CuckServatives, LIARS, Traitors....the legacy R's are never going to lift a finger to save America....Conservatives have failed and they have failed all the way.... this son of a bitch is going down...HARD.

Boehner was always known for getting emotional.

I think when he was Speaker, a lot of jokes were made about it.

I never liked him then, but looking back in comparison to the unhinged fruitcakes in today's GQP, I get nostalgic for the days when they were only cold hearted and selfish without the craven, power mad, treasonous insanity.

There was a time when politicians disagreed, but didn't hate each other.

There was a time when politicians disagreed, but didn't hate each other.

And more importantly, respected the law and the rules and the Constitution and protocol, and history and the institutions of government.

Today's GQP spits on the very idea of all that.

All they care about is taking power by any means possible.

Thank God for the courts.

Let's all hope and pray that the SCOTUS feels the same way when they rule next year on the issue of the courts involvement in elections.

If they cut the courts out of the process, the next Trump will have a cakewalk in every red state.

I have had enough of weak feminized men who fail to do their duties.

You talk a lot about how doomed we all are. A huge part of that is how much we have lost our basic humanity.

There is nothing "feminized" about Boehner expressing some emotion at this event. It's just humanity.
