Congress approves removing statue of Supreme Court chief justice who wrote Dred Scott

The House passed a bill Wednesday that would remove from public display at the U.S. Capitol a statue of Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, who wrote the 1857 Dred Scott decision that defended slavery and denied the citizenship of Black Americans.

The legislation, which the House passed by voice vote, declares that Taney's authorship of the decision "renders a bust of his likeness unsuitable for the honor of display to the many visitors to the Capitol."

When is the Robert Byrd stuff coming down?

the more stories you make up to assuage your own insecurities, the happier I am about you exposing your own cowardice. wallow in your shame, little slave.

Ooooh. Such a great Keyboard Kommando you are, Sgt. Doolittle. LOL

The fact remains, you've already confessed on JPP that the FBI has nothing on you because you do little. Nothing, to be completely factual. You are all talk, son. Your entire life is talk, talk, talk.

Erasing history is a Democrat thing.

Republicans don't know history so there is nothing in their minds to erase or not erase. Democrats were, in fact, the slavery political party not only when Taney was chief justice but well into the 20th Century. All of that has turned completely around. The "solid South" for example is still the solid south but now it's as solid for Republicans as it was solid for Democrats. The Civil Rights Act of 1965 was the final straw.

Your point?

This is Democrats trying to eliminate any mention of rights, especially the right to bear arms

In the Dred Scott decision, the opinion of the court stated that if African Americans were considered U.S. citizens, "It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognized as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right ... to keep and carry arms wherever they went."

no surprise that Democrats need to make this about slavery instead of their true purpose.

Guntard shits guns in his sleep!

The people who bring up the fact that decades ago the Democratic party was home to Conservative racists must be completely blown away by the fact that the Dodgers raised the 2020 World Series pennant in Los Angeles and not Brooklyn.

Legion couldn't cope. Why expect mini-Legion can do better?
