'The House on Thursday passed the massive $858 billion 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in a vote of 350-80, sending the bill to the Senate, where a vote is expected to be held next week.

The $858 billion NDAA is $45 billion more than President Biden asked for, marking the second year in a row that Congress made the military budget higher than what the White House requested. The amount represents an 8% increase from the 2022 NDAA, which was finalized at $782 billion.'

I see Congress is doing it's usual turn of letting the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) run the show...COMPLETELY!!!

And the masses are getting conned into believing the spending is necessary.

Absolutely, BRILLIANT speech, imo.

And this guy was a general!
Warning of the dangers of the Military Industrial Complex.

Yet today?
Most people have been completely suckered into the MIC and neoconservatives to spend insane amounts of money on defense.
That is NOT NEEDED.

Money that would be FAR better spent elsewhere...like by cutting taxes and letting Americans spend that money to better their lives.

We sure are lucky that we have the trees that grow money!

It seems like only yesterday that your kind was strong on national defense, to the point of wanting even more than the President or Congress requested. Times change so quickly with your kind its hard to keep up. However you position will probably change again in a few days, as it always does.

We spend more than the next dozen nations combined and have for decades. The military contractors have enormous political power. They have an army of lobbyists who buy politicians.

Would that be the same debt you didnt care about while trump was in office?

And where is your link to prove that moon felt as you say, at that time?

Or are you just trolling?

Assuming you fail to provide said link.
The answer will be obvious.

China is catching up rapidly, do you want them to totally control access to the South and East China seas? Don't bother answering I know the answer already.

Senate Passes Massive $858 Billion NDAA
The spending bill now heads to President Biden's desk

'The Senate on Thursday night passed the massive $858 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in a vote of 83-11. The spending bill has already been approved by the House and now heads to President Biden’s desk for his signature.

The $858 billion bill is $45 billion more than Biden asked for and represents an 8% increase from the 2022 NDAA. It marks the second year in a row that Congress added tens of billions of dollars to the president’s original request, as massive military spending is popular on both sides of the aisle.

Out of the $858 billion, $817 billion will go to the Pentagon, and the remaining funds will go toward military spending for other departments, including $30 billion for the Energy Department’s nuclear weapons program.'

Beyond ridiculous.

You ignorant masses on the right want near-infinite, military spending.

And you ignorant masses on the left want near-infinite, welfare state spending.

All while America has not had a FY GDP growth of even a 'fair' 3% (other than the Covid Depression recovery) since 2004.

Lousy, economic growth along with gigantic, deficits?
And you ignoramuses are fine with this state-of-affairs.

You both - left and right - disgust me in your staggeringly, irresponsible, political thinking.
