Breaking news.

====================================

Should we have traded for the ex marine Paul Whelan instead?

Whelan is a former marine who has been in prison longer and has served his country. I'm glad Griner is coming home but Paul Whelan should be coming home first. It is sad that the price was Viktor Bout that was caught try to sell 30,000 AK 47s and 800 surface to air missiles and trying to bring down an American helicopter.

Will Putin just jail another American to eventually swap.

Would you be ok if Paul Whelan was swapped for an arms dealer?

The Russians must be pleased to be rid of her. She ate too much.

Haw, haw.....................................haw.

Whelan was accused of trading in Russian military secrets.

Griner was carrying a small amount of pot that even under Russian law should have only warranted a fine.

I think both of them were railroaded Into prison on trumped up charges, but I think the Russians look at Whelan's espionage charge with more gravity than a milliliter of hash oil.

So its not a matter of a dangerous arms dealer being freed, but who the Russian is swapped for. You my dear are the fucking American hater.
As far as I can tell SHE was arrested for being an American drug user. He was arrested for being an American spy trying to buy Russian secrets.

My hypothesis of how it all went down:

Even under Russian law, Griner should have only been fined for the tiny amount of hash oil she had, but the FSB decided to take her hostage.

The ex-marine Whelan had a Russia fetish, and I think he was just innocently interested in Russian military technology. Military geeks are like that. Somehow, FSB got wind of this and got somebody to give Whelan a flashdrive which supposedly had military specs on it. That was the take down.

He was trying to BUY Russian military secrets. He had 80K on him to buy the Russian secrets. I suspect he was in fact spying for the US.

Griner had 4 cartridges of Hashish oil. That is significantly more than 1 milliliter.

Whelan may well have been a spy. I do not buy America's party line on that issue any more than I buy Russia's. I DO NOT CARE, I still want him home as badly wither way.

In fact, if he was captured in service to the U.S., we likely owe it to him even more than if he were just a tourist.

I'd like to think Trump wouldn't have let Whelan rot in the Gulag for years if he was an important American spy.

I think it is reasonable to think based on the evidence that Whelan was an ex-marine with a fetish for Russian culture, Russian women, and he had an innocent interest in military technology like millions of other people do.

FSB is paranoid, and an ex-marine who has an interest in the Russian military and has a habit of taking tourist trips to Russia got Whelan on their radar.
