U.S. Marijuana Production Weakens Mexican Cartels

you gotta know a guy, or a guy who knows a guy.
One of the things I hated about Houston, when your 40 plus and hang out with yuppy tennis players you don't meet the GUY!!
Now, back in NAWLINS I have reunited with several guy's who know guy's.

Dude, the children of old moonshiners grow it here by the bushel. If you can grow tomatoes in your backyard you can grow pot.

I think the point he is making is that growing your own is not as easy as throwing seeds out in the yard. And if someone is a frequent smoker, it would take a lot to keep them going.

And, like most vegetable, the average person had rather buy them than grown them.

I'll be starting a tomatoe garden in my backyard tomorrow. Despite on my bs I've got to have the blackest thumb in the history of man. I'll never get to 4th degree blackbelt in bonghitzu if I don't master the growing side.

Although The Southern Man comes from a long line of home gardeners and used to grow not just supplemental but all his own vegetables he is unfamiliar with the multiple growing seasons of this great nation's deep southern regions.

so if the government can concoct an actual scheme to tax bulk cultivated marijuana, how do they prevent single user homegrown?

they can't
Bud do this, read up on dispenseries in Cali. There's one in Oakland that pays several hundred thousand a year in city sales taxes. Now these hippies could grow on their own, but like cigs it's way more practical to pay and toke.

Stoners are lazy by nature, not all as we have a Sonny Bono school of downhill skiing graduate here. They are not going to grow for 90 plus days when they could go to the local disp and purchase.
I have no clue on the number, but as a born again stoner (burned tree from 70's to 90's) I never knew anyone who grew and all my friends burned tree.

They don't grow it because its too easy to get caught growing it. It it was legal, all the potheads would be growing it in 5 gallon pails next to south facing windows, and their attics would be drying racks. The ones with greener thumbs would be selling black market to their buddies. The government knows this which is why it will never be legal.

I think there's already plenty data in Cali about actual taxes collected and it's a lot. Not many are making the argument it won't raise much taxes. But I'm not surprised as majority of conservatives don't want it fully leagal and liberals do.

if the leaf was legal, there would be so much tax revenue both realized and actual from it....

people need to realize that if it becomes legal, all the billions spent fighting/prosecuting etc....will be instant billions to state and federal governments....the taxes will also be a huge boon....

save 2 billion, get 2 billion in taxes and realize 4 billion

And then there are EXPORTS. We could take the jobs of even more foreigners.

Hmmm it could certainly help my states failing economy. The more I look at the better the idea sounds. Not that it sounded bad to begin with.
