The remora of JPP
Was there anything good about Adolf Hitler?
My answer may sound pro-Hitler. I'm anything but a fan but Hitler was a guy who had some good qualities.
He was loyal
He was determined
He was persistent
He loved his mother
He was very intelligent
He was an idealist
He was a neat dresser
He could be charming
He wasn't a half bad artist
Although this is a double-edged sword he was strong willed
Misguided though he was he dedicated himself to his vision of the greater good of Germany
He was courageous winning the following medals in WWI:
Iron Cross, Second Class - 12 February 1915
Bavarian Cross of Military Merit, Third Class with Swords - 17 September 1917
Regimental Diploma (Regiment "List") - 5 May 1918
Wound Badge in Black - 18 May 1918
Bavarian Medal of Military Service, Third Class - 25 August 1918
Iron Cross 1st Class - August 1918: this medal is listed in only some sources but appears to me to have been awarded. It was for courage under fire when he saved a superior officer who was, ironically, a Jew. This award is generally reserved for officers so for Hitler to have received it is unusual and attests to the high esteem he enjoyed among those who knew him
Ironically he was not promoted to sergeant because he lacked leadership ability
