HAHAH. Hey stupid . The colt 1911 was our standard military sidearm from 1911 to 1986.!!!! It's a military style weapon if anything is, you moron.

Personally, i don't like the 1911. It's a single action automatic and there is no good way of carrying it.

The 1911 has a two manual safeties that must be disengaged simultaneously to operate the firearm. These safeties are often misunderstood or simply misused.
The gun is completely safe to carry cocked and locked.
I have done so for over 50 years.

I have done so for over 50 years.

It is safe but it is not EFFECTIVE carried cocked and locked. You have to remember to flick off the safety before firing. Will you do that if attacked.? You might if it is the only handgun you have but i doubt that is the case . You likely have DA revolvers and DA autos and maybe even SA revolvers and none of them have a safety. In an actual firefight you're gonna panic and forget the safety and just pull the trigger on your 1911 and nothing will happen.

I realize Millions of american men swear the 1911 is the best handgun ever made even though it is 110 years old. I disagree. SA autos are a bad choice today.
