No, Stevie. The fact you are too thickheaded to understand why you are wrong is why you peaked at E-6, son.

E-6 is a respectable grade, but lower than most 20 year veterans. Usually people who retire at that rank after 20 have had problems in their past or are just not that bright. Judging by your "I love me" case, I'm guessing you weren't a troublemaker.

And I know plenty of people who retired at 20 as an E-6. Back when I first joined (1981), there was even an SK3 who retired. That was before they started with all the high year tenure stuff and political correctness. The guy would make rank, get busted, make rank again, re-enlist, get busted, etc.

I know I wouldn't have wanted to retire as an E-4.

Then again, it's laughable that you would comment on anyone's military retirement at all and try to disparage their honorable service in the process.

I take criticism from those who were there; from those who walked the walk.

It is reasonable to assume that the average enlisted member will be able to retire at 20 years, having achieved the rank of E-7, and the average officer should be able to retire at 20 years at the rank of O-5.
