Elon Musk says he will make an alternative phone if Apple, Google ban Twitter

I get the feeling he has reached the outer limit of money people are willing to invest in him, so he would have to come up with the money himself.

In the end, this could suck up all Musk's fortune, and leave him with a smart phone to compete with the established smart phones. So how would that smart phone sell?

The strength of Android and iPhone is they have a large app ecosystem. "Musk Phones" would not. People would have to spend several thousand dollars on a smart phone that does nothing outside Musk's "Everything" app. Customers would have to pay extra to become Musk's slaves.

Why does "quickly" matter? At this point I doubt building a phone is a difficult process.

Linux has the largest 'ecosystem' (downloadable software) of all. Musk phones would probably be open Linux phones. There is already a project developing phones along these lines.

There are more open source systems out there besides Android. Android as an OS has too many limitations, specifically centered around performance and a weak loader.

Already possible, but Elon could easily develop a new phone that doesn't need Android.

It's already happening. Open source Linux phones, for example, are real. They exist.

He doesn't run this site so no one cares what he would think of it. Look twitter was free to limit the speech of it's members and decent people were free to think Twitter was a piece of shit social media platform as a result of that decision. What Twitter showed us was that leftists are incapable of engaging in the arena of ideas.

On November 18, Musk noted how Apple and Google through their vertical integration have a duopoly on the market and wrote, "App store fees are obviously too high due to the iOS/Android duopoly. It is a hidden 30 percent tax on the Internet."

Musk followed up and tagged the antitrust division in the Department of Justice.
