Musk's goal is to make an "everything app" where you can send a Tweet, order a pizza, buy car insurance, invest in stock, get medical advice, watch exclusive TV shows, etc. That requires a larger staff than just sending 140 character messages. I mean a lot more staff.

How hard is it for him to hire that huge new staff now that he is famous for treating staff poorly?



You are probably right. If he comes in high with his offers, then people will work for him even with his current reputation.

He just lost a $100 billion. He wants to hire a lot of expensive people... And they are going to be more expensive because he now has a reputation... How many more billions will he be losing in the future?

An interesting concept which he seems to have both delayed in producing and greatly increased in price due to his reputation as a shitty leader.

Will he remain a wonderdog of the Alt-Right when he outsources all of his staff to China and India?

A year ago, I would have thought I heard something about that, but been unsure. I, along with so many other people, would assume that Musk was the founder, not just some guy who game of throwned the founders out of their own company.

Reputation is one of the most valuable things in the modern world, and that comes from narrative. The dirty little secret is many of the narratives are lies. I have been involved with some of those lies, and am beginning to question the morality of it all.

Anyway, Musk has exposed himself. He should have been more careful.

I guess one of the nice things about being worth $250 billion is that Musk was one of the few people in the world who could be fine after losing $100 billion. He still has $150 billion left.

That being said, losing $100 billion has got to hurt. And I question where he would find the staff to rebuild Twitter. Remember, he not only burned his bridges in America, but also in Europe, India, and Brazil. I suppose Russia is a possibility, if they can end their war in Ukraine.

You are thinking along the same lines as I am. Musk fired Twitters entire Indian staff with a nasty email, and bounced their final checks. Educated Indians will not be working for him. China is cracking down on foreign tech companies, and America is cracking down on Chinese tech companies, so China is out of the question.

A year ago, I would say Russia, but with the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost access to the world, and lost their best people. Musk even made trouble with Brazil.

There are programmers in South Africa. Not a lot, but a few really good ones. Southeast Asia has a growing number of programmers, but also few in number. This is not an easy problem.

Zuckerberg has lost more money, but he has not cost his reputation so dearly. If his investment in VR starts paying off, a long shot at this point, Meta will make back all the money they lost, and far more. Twitter has no obvious solution, even a long shot solution.
