Do you believe in free speech?

I wonder which causes more damage, shouting "Fire!" in a theater or having a drag queen read stories to 1st graders.......

Or telling an angry armed mob to go to the Capitol and Fight Like Hell to get an unelected person installed as president.

There are already laws against that, PoopPootyPirate.

you know, if you stopped sending me notifications I wouldn't have to point out the stupid things you say........yes, there were laws against it.....a judge just temorarily halted it and Jarot is cheering.......any further questions?.....

Totally false. FIRE was created to fight for free speech rights that universities try to impose on students and faculty. Those restrictions are sometimes imposed by student groups through the school's authority.

You have obviously gotten false information about FIRE from groups that don't like free speech they disagree with.

They are state funded institutions. Studnet groups don't have a right to dictate what can be said unless of course the useless leftist pussies running the indoctrination centers kowtow to them which is exactly what happens. Students should be heard from and then told to STFU. There is no right to be free from being offended.

oh look.....an attempt at diversion.......I guess that means you realize how stupid you look in this thread....by the way, cuntselor, your post is just another lie.....

I'll assume you are not lying and ask you for source of that.

His law preventing professors from mentioning race is a good example.

“The law officially bans professors from expressing disfavored viewpoints in university classrooms while permitting unfettered expression of the opposite viewpoints,” wrote Federal Judge Walker. “Defendants argue that, under this Act, professors enjoy ‘academic freedom’ so long as they express only those viewpoints of which the State approves. This is positively dystopian.”

Right, they can't dictate what can be said but the student government and other organizations can try to influence the school administration to pass those school policies. FIRE has won lawsuits against universities with restrictive speech policies from both the left and right.

Free speech rights only apply to government restrictions and therefore do not apply to most private schools.

These attempts to limit free speech occurs by both the left-wing and right-wing student organizations. Turning Point is a right-wing college organization that has a professor's watch list that identifies professors with unacceptable ideas.

FIRE fights speech repression from both the left and right. They have a list of examples of cases they have won.

What kind of free speech is this limiting? Examples?
