Anti intellectualism...

You better check your meds. You just agreed with my point. ...
No meds here pal. I made a statement, you pose an irrelevant question that nevertheless indicates that you agree with it; I answer the question that you should have asked then you give me a wise-ass remark on how I agree with you. Perhaps you're getting some hallucinogenic fumes off your haz waste (yes, I realize that a fume is a metal vapor).

You best pick up some flowers on the way home from work. :good4u:

You still haven't answered my question. What is common about sense?

It's way past flowers dude, were talking serious chocolates.

Obviously a slow day on the board.

As if there is an argument about who the anti-intellectuals are, what region of the country you find them most in, and what affect religiousity has on intellectualism.

There is no argument, there is no question.

The previous 8 years are a glaring example of anti-intellectualism.

True dat. I think it was mainly the hostility of the anti-intellectual crowd that caused most Republicans with a science back ground to leave the party.

I know what you mean. Why do people propagate these false paradigms? One can be both religious and rational, believe in faith and be intelligent.

It amazes me how many people, because I have a science education, believe that I am an athiest.

I agree, in fact in my opinion, when taken far enough, it seems to me heaven, (the end of the world) is the place where heaven and rationalism merge!

Chocolates may not be the issue. Have you considered plain-old American pigheadedness?:

Your question stems from my statement: "Educated people often lack common sense." In other words, there is noting common about common sense. You're asking about "sense", which is different than "common sense".

Absolutely .. and it's why "college-educated" usually means "democrat" and why the richest states are democrat and the poorest are republican.

Now if I was guilty of that why would I be buying chocolates? LOL If I was that pig headed I'd just be going cluelessly on my way like most men do.
You're buying candy to get her to listen to your apology for being pigheaded, as well as for penance. That is, if you're smart. :pke:
