Asian Americans favored Democratic candidates in midterms, exit polls say

She’s among the many Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who showed up at the ballot box on Tuesday. Surveys show that Asian Americans favored Democrats during the midterm elections, according to election night exit polls. An NBC News Exit Poll found that 58% had voted for Democrats while 40% had voted for Republicans.

Sara Sadhwani, senior researcher at the demographic and policy research nonprofit AAPI Data, told NBC News that results are consistent with years past, proving that Asian Americans have emerged as a Democratic bloc with “growing reliability.”

Not good news for the white christian party as the demographics just aren't on their side and won't be :awesome:

Still clinging to the demographics are destiny argument?

Asians have voted for Democrats for awhile now. What would be more insightful is the trending. Is it growing or getting smaller?

Asian voters were the largest group behind the recall of the progressive white D.A. in San Francisco. The replacement, a black and Hispanic woman, is still a Democrat but much more law and order.

We've seen a slight swing of Hispanics to the GOP and college educated white women to the Democrats. Trying to categorize all non-whites as some monolithic group is missing a lot of what's going on.

Seems like the maga/ white xtain nationalist sludge cares about it and being replaced

With as few people vote in person now exit polls are increasingly useless, making even easier to cheat.

I'm sure there are a few but what we know is people, and political parties, aren't static. Because people, or even a group of people, vote one way today it can change. And now that more non whites are gaining power we are seeing battles between minority groups (as seen in SF & LA).

Even the article posted states Asian voters aren't monolithic nor should be considered Democratic locks.

Since Asians don’t get discussed much, SF is 1/3 Asian. Anyone live in a City with even close to that number?

The middle school and high school we are assigned to are both majority Asian (combined with Hispanics they make up 80% of the student population). Anyone here, or your kids, go to a majority Asian school or anything close to it? Based on numbers I’m guessing probably not but you never know.

I can't speak for them but you don't hear Asians mentioned all that much. Part of it may be because they get categorized in different ways. When it comes to voting they are considered minorities. But when it comes to things like school admissions they are considered 'white adjacent'.

You may have heard of Lowell High School in SF. It's a merit based program, top public school in SF, similar to some of the top high schools in NYC. The school is 18% white but the argument is it lacks diversity? How can that be? Well like the NYC schools, it's a majority Asian. What they mean by diversity are black and brown kids. It's the same at top Universities where Asians are overly represented and the Ivy League schools go so far as to give your application negative points for being Asian.

So Asians have a long history of discrimination against them in this country but as a 'racial group' they do better academically and economically than anyone else.

That's what happens when one party is infested with racists, christian extremists and white supremacists.

Guno probably does not have any of those either in his white gated community.

That makes sense as they are the victims of attacks in major democrat run cities and not allowed to go to liberal Universities.
