73% of anticipated recipients say they expect to spend their debt forgiveness on non-essential items, including travel, dining out and new tech, according to a recent survey from Intelligent.com.

So they can spend money on this..but not pay on their loan they promised to pay back
 
Its vote buying, just as is getting rid of our oil reserves. They are now draining the home heating oil reserve I heard.
 
The point is an educational mortgage inhibits spending on other things. They will have more money to stimulate the economy creating jobs. It is not important that some will spend on things you do not approve of.

the POINT is that they've successfully proven that they don't have to live up to their responsibilities, instead being able to shuffle it off to others while you call it stimulating the economy.
