Fertilizer shortage could be catastrophic

Do Brett, Heather or your other go to guys have any suggestions how to fix supply chain issues? What is the government doing to cause this?

increased transportation costs in the form of high fuel prices........low employment numbers caused by government interference in the market.......

government is the problem, not the solution...

a government that does least does best.

We progressives generally believe that government can work, but we align with small government conservatives when government does not work......this can not be allowed to stand.

Well, for me, I would rather see a government that focuses on defending rights and allow people to innovate and prosper in whatever manner they can imagine.

We are supposed to be the land of opportunity, lets get back to that. Keep it fair by making it unfavorable to inhibit fairness, not regulation. This is a crime and punishment matter.

Can you and me get together on "Either fix it or scrap it, and dont get in the way of Constitutional rights, OR ELSE!" when it comes to most government programs?

Rights are rights so certainly this.
Fix it or scrap it ? I like scrap it and if citizens WANT a replacement they will let their legislators know and more specifically, how it will be made better.

That is you not making any attempt to meet me halfway.

funny, I thought it had us largely in agreement.

regarding the fix it or scrap it, fixing it virtually never results in a fix. its a bandaid here and there and almost always new stuff which is seldom helpful.

the issue is in the fundamentals, the basic engineering of the program. given the nature of politics in America there are always agendas to be codified and coddled and in trying to do that, the "problem" being fixed becomes secondary. Look at Obamacare as an example. Big Pharma had to be bought off so the RX side of it was just the usual bad joke. the AMA had to be bought of so EVERY insurance was forced nto looking like it (and providers being forced to divulge all your medical data to the government to sell to whoever).

unless you first prevent the purchase of legislators, its extremely difficult for a government to work to the benefit of it's citizens. and lets face it, thats the LAST thing legislators want to see happen.

Government has to be allowed some chance to make reforms once the citizens demand it. For decades citizens have not given a shit, that is how we got here. Now in some areas I would agree with you, for instance multiple attempts to fix the CIA have failed, even with the best people we had to throw at the problem, so I would be fine with the CIA getting a stake to the heart now.

Well, lets see if the citizenry decides to start giving a shit. They really need to.
If they did I do not believe the pols could get away with lining the pockets of their owners with silver.
Obviously that would be wonderful.

The CIA has issues to be sure but they are, as initially envisaged, a necessary thing. Trouble is they let themselves get politicized as have the FBI. That shit didn't happen with J Eager Beaver. Maybe those two ought to be tucked into the judicial branch, specifically SCOTUS.

Or

Try the Elon Musk approach ! Fire half the US Govt. We will find out soon enough who is needed and who is not. My money is on the gaps would scarcely be noticed. And that would free up lots of warm bodies to backfill all those retirees who clocked out during the pandemic.

I am pretty sure that you know my opinion, which is that Americans now are bow in the main ignorant cowards, and that old America is dead....it was murder.

Its all over.....its China going to be running things now.
