There's a difference between parents who are oblivious to what their kids are going through, and whether they have drugs or weapons in their room, or who/what they're looking at on the web. Then there are despicable pieces of shit parents like those Michigan ones -- who KNEW their kid was fucked up and bought him a gun for Xmas anyways. It's too bad they can't serve the same sentence he's going to get.

They might. What the Nazis, White Nationalists and other Pedo Don fans don't get is 1) these are State Laws, not federal and 2) there's a difference between a case where people were injured or killed and where no one was hurt.

Have you noticed that all the RWNJs clamoring about Freedom and a corrupt Federal government all seem to want a stronger Federal government ruling over the States? It appears State's Rights left the Republican Party along with McCain and Romney.

Reichwingers only support "states' rights" when the states are doing what they want them to do -- like ban abortion, guns guns guns for everyone, right to work laws, etc. But let 'em enshrine reproductive freedom into their state constitution, like Michigan likely will next week, and watch 'em all scream for a national law banning all abortions for any reason. You got a womb, you get pregnant, you die -- tough shit.

The school would have had to notify all 5000 parents...one of them surely would have gone to the media.... Something about his story is not quite right...

I just went into a stadium with over 80,000 other people yesterday. Every one of us was metal detected in a matter of minutes.

But the “useless sports teams” are the source of much of that revenue. Cut out the “useless sports team” and the funding that was once there dries up.

Every D1 college stadium … or gym for that matter, has had a metal detector. Have to leave my gun locked up in the vehicle.

Edit: And they require carrying bags to be clear and of a certain size.
