Gun-toting soccer mom, husband shot

Oh believe me, I have noticed that.

Most gun owners I know are responsible individuals and are not likely to give into a crime of passion any more than a non gun owner.

That's not backed up by statistics.

Having a gun in the home makes that home far more likely to have gun violence occur there .. AND, gun owners kill themselves and loved ones far more than anyone else.

I want them to have more guns.

My perspective is that most gang shootings here are random acts of violence based on drug deals gone bad, fights over girlfriends/boyfriends, robberies, etc. Mainly drug-related. We don't have the kind of gangs prevalent in L.A., NYC or Chicago. I don't know what the solution is to ending violence; I just think that adding more guns to the mix isn't it. IMHO.

the problem with this mindset is that the anti gun laws that get implemented only affect those that will abide by the law. Nobody seems to take in to account that if the person that's already going to disregard the laws about murder are not going to be at all interested in abiding by a law of where, when, and how to carry a gun.

This is the shit GED'rs always do, where did I say everyone who owns a gun.
It only takes a small fraction of the gun owners to crack to equal 18,000 murders.

Do the math GED 18,000 murders vs multi-millions of gun owners

To claim that legal gun owners commit all, or even MOST of those murders ignores several things about our country, things that drastically seperate us from England and France that you love to ignore.

Most people killed in our country, from guns and other wise, are criminals themselves. Gang members, drug dealers, pimps, Etc. And naturally they're killed by their criminal counter parts. Since it's criminals killing other criminals most them get their guns ILLEGALLY in the first place.

Second, the biggest difference between us and Europe is the war on drugs. Now this point overlaps greatly with my first, we would reduce our crime rates dramatically if we didn't have this prohibition. But again, this rarely affects LEGAL guns owners, the people gun laws always end up affecting.

Again GED boy your putting words in my mouth.

What I claim is less guns = less murders.

Gang members, drug dealers, pimps murdering each other is a benefit to society, and guns make that easier for them. Guns also protect us law abiding citizens from becoming victims; no wonder liberals like Topstool hate them.

5 Year Old Girl Stabbed by Mother Expected to Survive

WESTMINSTER -- A woman who allegedly stabbed her two young daughters, then tried to kill herself, is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday and will be booked for attempted murder, according to Westminster police.

Authorities say Thuy Le, 38, of Garden Grove, called 911 to get help and report the incident Wednesday morning.

"Hi, I just stabbed my daughters and myself," a woman breathlessly tells the 911 operator. "It's all bloody."

Stabbing death may be result of murder, attempted suicide: police

The death of a 48-year-old woman in east-end Montreal Monday morning may have been the result of a murder and attempted suicide, police said.

Her 48-year-old partner was also found with serious stab wounds, but he survived

I could go on. Just google Murder Suicide Stabbing. There are tons of them. The common denominator between this and the murder-suicide this thread is about is that someone crazy decided to kill someone and themself. That is ALL.

Can you name me a gun crime that ISN'T a violent crime?

Southernman and his assessment are correct but that's not what I meant. Gun crime is any crime commited with a gun. Usually they are violent crimes, robbery murder, Etc. However there is no evidence to suggest that violent crimes go down in area's with either fewer guns or stricter laws.

Stealing one; shooting up in the air; shooting within a certain distance of a house; shooting across a road; carrying concealed without a permit...
Firing a weapon from an automobile in my state. Actually had to represent someone that got in his car, forgot to make sure his weapon was cleared and shot from his car window into the dirt. Charged with a 4th degree felony. Jury laffed that one out in about 8 minutes. Also, firing a weapon while consuming a beer (negligent use of a fire arm), guy was at the range and had ONE beer that was actually gone when the cop got there and admitted to drinking it. He got a conditional discharge. Some states also prosecute having a loaded weapon in an automobile. Lots of gun crimes that do not involve violence. See how crazy you progressives are? You make me and SM agree on shit.

We also agree that Boston sucks.
Wow SM I am beginning to see you in whole new light.

Jesus, that's hilarious in a sick twisted way.

I disagree with you. Guns, by their nature, promote a culture of murder and violence, in the hands of humans.

I'm pretty sure the murder rates in countries that don't celebrate universal ownership of handguns have lower murder rates.

Sure, one these morons could have pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the other one to death. Or hired a contract killer. But, few people ultimately find the nerve to stab someone to death. That shit is a bloody mess and involves hand-to-hand combat. And fewer people have the nerve or fortitude to find and negotiate with a contract killer. Guns make murder easy, quick, and relatively hassle-free especially in a momentary fit of passionate rage.

so before guns....humans were peaceful...
